That sounds great you must have been working really hard.
If you plan to do some shows you could have a look at this site which has schedules and loads of other useful info. They also have another site which you might like to join called obedience Newbies for people competing up to novice level. Even before you compete I would go along to a couple of shows first without then with Nellie so that you know what goes on and what you need to do.
Don't worry about retrieve as you can start in pre-beginners which has no retrieve. You can only enter two classes at a show so you would start in pre-beginners and beginners. You need retrieve for beginners but all the other exercises are similar. Is the class you go to for pet or competition if you want to compete you would be best to go to a competition class as there are lots of little details that make a difference when you compete. Where do you live?

Hi Anne,
It is mainly a pet training club, but I do know a couple of the trainers compete and they are really helpful. So I will ask them when the time comes. I will have a look at the site and try and find out where there is a competion locally. I live in Nottingham but I drive so I can always go a little further for comps.
Thanks for the info I will have a look at the site now, its a pity you live so far away because it would be great to meet up.
By the way, I put in my last post Nellie is 10mths she is actually 8mths Im losing track of time already!!!!
I will tell you what we are doing at the moment than you can tell me when you think we would be ready to start doing comps.
Heelwork, Turns in place, Sit,Stand and down Stay,Recall to sit and Wait. We have just also started doing figure of eight in heelwork going round dogs.
Its all good fun and she loves it!!!

Speak to them now as there are little fiddly things like straight sits and lots of habits you can get into that will cost you points and have to be sorted out once you compete. I was looking at the World Agility Championship site and in the 2nd placed Portuguese team was a Boxer :-D, there are about 3 Boxers and a Beardie entered. I would be guided by your trainers who compete as to when you are ready as they see how you are both doing

Look out for Exemption shows that have Obedience. they often schedule classes paralel to the Open show ones, and ones that are even more basic for complete novices!

There are alos a lot of people who only cxompete at this level due to health, lack of money and time to travel to the bigger shows.

My friend who used to compete at the highest level in Champ class C has for some years done this due to health, as do many of the old stagers. It is alwso where newcomers often start off, as they do inthe conformation side.
