Hi, I have just bought a load of turkey necks as I was thinking about adding some raw to my dogs diet but now that I have them I am getting cold feet. I worry about them causing a blockage or something. Does anyone feed these and if so can you ease an anxious "mum's" worried mind?

When I was splitting them up last night they were all sitting round me looking like staring kids in a sweet shop window :-)

Oh mine love turkey necks :)
At first the youngest thought she would swallow it whole so I was a bit weary giving her another, in fact I chopped it into pieces (which wasn't easy) the next time. Then after a couple of times she got the hang of it and realised hers would last as long as the other dogs' if she chewed it instead :)
Some necks are quite small and giving them to mine is a bit nerve racking as they can just crunch and gulp them down, the larger ones are better for them.
Never had a dog choke on them, and never caused a blockage. I think a dogs stomach can break down food better than we realise so it should be perfectly safe for them.
just to add, necks are as 'prized' as bones to them so I feed the three of them in different areas, then they are more relaxed :)

Thanks for getting back to me. I will pluck up the courage and give to them tomorrow.
