Has anyone noticed a difference in drontal wormer lately? The xl tablets?
Ive given my dogs these for years and theyve always eaten them in food no problem, but the last two times the older ones refused point blank to touch the food even though id crushed the tablet right down and the youngest one who is very greedy threw it all up 30mins later as he did the time before. I think theyve changed an ingredient in there.
Can anyone recommend a good alternative?
Many Thanks
Beth

Nope wormed all mine a few weeks ago with it, straight from the hand and even Lastar who is a fussy so and so sometimes ate it straight away.
not noticed a difference, did all mine this week, my usual way of giving them is pop the tablets in a chunk of sausage and they dont even notice it in there!!!! none of them threw up or showed any side effects.
i gave tess two tablets as prescribed, she ate them out of my hand no problem, but the next day was soooooo sick, cant say if it was the drontal but i have the calender so i will no next time.

Used dorontal 2 weeks ago no problems.Used both XL and flavoured standard.

I have been using drontal puppy suspension and it makes my dog sick a few hours later. No lasting ill affects though. The vet said the only alternative (which covers all worms) is milbemax(or something like that) we have promised the breeder we wouldn't use this as one of her pups had a very bad reaction.

I'd never use drontal again :-(
It made my lad really ill and off colour for a good few days. I learned my lesson.

i had the same problem with the xl so i had to go back to the normal drontal.
so costly with 3 newfs but worth it.
i get mine fron vet medic 20 at a time.
much cheaper then the vets.
