Topic Dog Boards / Health / Help Panicking Miracle-gro

hi Guys I am having a panic and I hope over nothing and that you can advise.

I have been using diluted miracle-gro plant feed on my garden this afternoon. I read the lable carefully and no-where did it say not to use around pets. I have searched the internet and found no information. Anyhow whilst gardening my twelve week old pup was following me round and stuck his head in a couple of the plants I watered with it. If he has ingested any it would be an extremly small amount. Anyway I wasn't worried till I have just taken him for a walk a couple of hours later and he has been sick twice.

I think it is very likely that the sickness has been caused by Drontal puppy suspension which I gave him at lunchtime, the only other time my pup has ever been sick is a few hours after his last dose of this a month ago - he was right as rain the next day.

He is sleeping now and seems okay - should I call the vets re the miracle-gro or am I being paranoid? Suffice to say I won't use this around the dog again and I'll change his wormer!

Thanks Oz x

I'd contact the vet to be on the safe side.

Maybe tryng a differnt holistic wormer such as 4 seasons wormer, it is effective and much more gentle than chemical wormers which can cause adverse reactions

I've used MG on my garden for yonks and all dogs have access to it .... no ill-effects ever but common for pups to vomit after wormer.
I would only worry if pup ate dry crystals.

Thanks everyone. He seems okay now and not a case for the emergency vet I don't think (it is out of hours now) I am pretty sure he would just tell me to keep an eye on him.
Obviously if he is still poorly in the morning I'll take him.

I think if harm could be done by such a small amount of product, diluted according to instructions, that there would surely be warnings on the product to keep pets away.

I'll keep a close eye on him tonight and will definately try a different wormer. Thank you very much fo your replies x
