Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / help, pup following cars!!
- By QT [us] Date 04.10.02 19:28 UTC
I am having a problem with my 6 mo old Aussie bitch. She has started following vehicles that I get into! It doesnt matter what vehicle or who I got into it with she runs after barking. She doesnt do this to any other vehicles... just if I am in them, otherwise she could car less about cars. Driving faster doesnt help... she just runs faster. I kept driving today just to see if she would give up, but she followed me for a quarter of a mile! Please tell me what I can do to teach her not to do this. There are other dogs and people in the yard so it isnt because she is being left alone, she just doesnt want me to leave her. I have left her before, but ussually I left her in the crated area inside If I did leave. Telling her no, and stay isnt working either... she just disregards it and is so worried about my leaving. Sorry that this got so long I just wanted to make a clear picture of what is happening. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

Hi QT, As you know they are a herding breed, and chasers, You are her mum and she wants to come with you. To lessen the risk of her getting hurt or run over by another car, I can only suggest that you shut her away when you leave, and in between work on her obedience. Best of luck.
