I may keep a boy pup from the litter I have depending on his quality. I am not familier with boy pups as this is the 1st boy I may own.

My question is how early can you feel the testicles? I think I can feel two on all the boys we have now but is it too early to tell?. The pups are 4 1/2 weeks old now and what I can feel is like the size of 2 tiny cake decarating balls (sorry for the description!!). I want him as a show project so its important to me.

Thanks for any advise

To tell if a baby boy boxer has the required bits....sit him on your lap like a human baby ie on his bottom with his body upright and front legs off the 'ground' ( a bit like a ventiloquist dummy!). Let him relax and with your free hand feel for the testes... yes they will be evident in boxers around 4-6 weeks if you're lucky. They will be about the size of a pudding rice grain and wil move freely within the sac....... this is what makes them detectable from the other tissue surrouding the area .... the fact that they can move within that area.
Many people, vets included, search for them whilst the pup is standing and it's easy to miss one ( at this early stage) bobbing along it's tube, this is where gravity helps.
Good luck.

Yes, I think I am lucky then, I can feel 2 moving freely. Just need to wait and see what the stud dog owner thinks of him now :0)
Thank you.
