Hi guys

Well the insurance came back to me and has offered me £1220 for my poor old car :-( my good old S reg :-(

Now i have got to find a renault megane scenic pref 1.6 to accomodate my car cage.

If you see anything in good condition let me know.  I need all the help possible, I hate car shopping.

PS  I forgot to add I don't really want to be taking any finance out.  So the search gets harder

Have you tried eBay?  I bought my Doblo from there.

Yeah i have had a look.  I'm so nervous about ebay though.

Well manage to get another renault megane scenic in great condition  off ebay (very nervous when buying it) and as a added bonus they only lived about 15 minutes drive away.
Car cage is fitted and I'm ready to start showing again woohoo!
Look out the boxers are back lol :-)

Was your experience buying a car of ebay OK?  We've sold one on ebay, but I bought one on Thursday night and am going to pick it up this Friday.  I'm in a panic incase there's something drastically wrong with it!!  The couple seem really nice and it looks fab in the photos, also has 11 months MOT, so am keeping fingers well and truly crossed!!

Yes, the seller was particularly helpful seeing  as I am in Scotland & he was in Brum!   I paid  £5 extra through eBay to make sure the car was ok, no police checks etc. on it and that came up fine.   It's been a good car, ok I've had 3 small repairs in the space of 10 days lately but then anyone's belt, oil filter & exhaust can go!

Thanks Christine,
Hopefully this one will be as good as yours!  Luckily mine is also in Scotland, but a good 3 hours drive away!

Ebay can be good for vehicles. My dad got a lovely Harley motorbike for a really good price.

it is so nerve racking, but i was lucky and had an honest person selling her car.  I will be having an oil change and filter done though as soon as possible.  Always a wise option.

Hubby's a mechanic, so that goes without saying.  Have done an hpi check and it's all come back clear, and am in the rac incase we have problems on the way back up the road!!

i bought a renault megane scenic and its the best and most suitable car ive ever had for my 3 dogs. i find it spacious enough but not too big for me to drive. i bought a dog guard and a tailgate guard made to fit the car which was expensive but well worth it coz now i can keep my car nice and clean and dont have to worry if they get covered in mud on a walk. great cars i think

OMG.....I think anyone who buys a vehicle without seeing and trying it is...well either mad or exceptionally brave! ;)  Husband, brother, inlaws mechanics and they would never buy a vehicle without giving it a good going over first. An MOT does not mean the vehicle is safe to be on the road. or even capable of moving....vehicles go for good prices on ebay but I would have to see and drive it first (well, my backup would lol)

LOL braver than me too! :-O

I have to have a good look and satisfy myself everything is where it should be before I part with my cash! :-D

Just updated my vehicle too - an Astra estate to an AstraVan - Jack loves it! :-) :-)

Well, going to pick it up this afternoon.  I'll be giving it a good going over and trying it out first before I take it away.  I'd rather lose my £100 deposit than risk my neck!!  Hubby is an excellent mechanic and well capable of sorting out any little niggling problems that might be wrong with it!!  The person selling it is also a mechanic and I'm hoping he's as honest as he sounds.  Am hoping for the best!  We sold our Supra on ebay, without the buyer coming to see it first.  I described it v. honestly and the buyer was chuffed to bits with it!

Just back with my new car.   Love it!!!  Mint condition and just as the seller described.  I know I've been lucky, but it was well worth it!!
