Currently 1stone and half a pound....
So pleased.
Karen :)
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 28.03.08 19:41 UTC
Wow well done you.

Unfortunately not kept up with it much although I have almost gone down a trouser size.  Was in very tight fitting size 14's, just squeezing into 12's now.  I think I've lost about half a stone, but it's my bottom that disappeared!
- By LindaMorgan [gb] Date 28.03.08 19:57 UTC
I now weigh 17.11 been up and down as I took over a friends litter for her but they are going now in 2 weeks think that makes it 23lb altogether

Well I have managed to lose 21 pounds so far this year, though have made a concerted effort and over the last 6 weeks following the Weight Watchers plan, (but not rejoined) back to counting points, I have lost 12 pounds.

Now 15 stone 3 pounds.
- By Nikita [gb] Date 28.03.08 22:33 UTC
I've done pitifully - I've lost (with a bit of losing and putting back on) 4lbs since the beginning of the year.  Utter rubbish!

But, it's 11 weeks from tomorrow until I'm (theoretically) in Spain on holiday, so I am going to be sorting myself out from tomorrow.
- By tessisbest [gb] Date 30.03.08 20:12 UTC

- By MW184 [gb] Date 30.03.08 21:29 UTC
Well done everybody - I didnt get my a*** in gear when you started and went up to 19st 5lb.  Have started on slimming world now and managed to lose 3lb first week (easter week) and weigh in again tomorrow so we shall see.  I didnt do as well as I should have because hubby decided to take me out for a meal yesterday but I have resisted treats today,

good luck for the coming week
- By Rach85 [gb] Date 31.03.08 09:28 UTC
So far I have lost half a stone through walking more and being careful of treats, good stuff :)
- By kiger [gb] Date 31.03.08 11:31 UTC
well done everyone! im on the lipotrim diet.
so far ive lost 1 stone 5lbs,im in my 3rd week now. im going on holiday to south africa in october to meet my boyfriends relatives for the first time, and ive only ever been to france on holiday before so i dont want to feel uncomfortable about myself wearing little clothes.
ive got a lot of weight i want to get rid of so i went on the lipotrim diet to give me a kick start
- By melster122 Date 31.03.08 14:54 UTC
I am on the Cambridge Diet and have been for nearly 10 weeks (weigh in tomorrow).  So far I have lost 36lbs.  I needed a quick fix as have been losing weight and putting it back on with Weight Watchers.  Once I have reached my target I will do the Cambridge Maintenance Diet for awhile and then go back to the Weight Watchers way of life to maintain :)
- By Dogz Date 31.03.08 15:34 UTC
Well done to us all.
A bit of discipline and a litlle less on our plates and we will all do it!
Over here I know of so many who have had the gastric band op and it really worries me!

Karen ;)
- By kiger [gb] Date 31.03.08 21:30 UTC
what is cambridge diet like? ive heard its like lipotrim but with alot more flavers.
also how much is it a week? lipotrim is 36pound.
i also went on it to give myself a head start then im going on slimming world once ive lost some
- By melster122 Date 01.04.08 06:35 UTC
Cambridge Diet is great.  There are lots and lots of flavours and I am not finding it to difficult to do.  The price differs a bit depending on your counsellor.  Mine charges me £35 a week for 21 shakes/soups/bars.  You pay extra for the mix-a-mousse, drink flavourings etc.
- By Nikita [gb] Date 01.04.08 11:29 UTC

> Mine charges me £35 a week for 21 shakes/soups/bars.

Holy funk, that is painful!!  I'll stick with my healthy eating - budget shops get it down to £10 a week, give or take!
- By kiger [gb] Date 01.04.08 11:41 UTC
wow i thought it would of been alot more than that,im going to try and find a local one to me soon as. i dont like lipotrim because i cant drink any of the milkshakes apart from choc they are all so horribal and the flapjack is like eating sawdust!!! so its hard for me when im just having the same flavour all the time.
- By melster122 Date 01.04.08 15:29 UTC
I don't think that the Cambridge Diet is very expensive at all.  It is basically £5 a day for all your food.  I used to spend a lot more than that what with the odd coffee out, bottle of wine etc etc
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 01.04.08 17:54 UTC
Well seriously back on track now, so hoping I'll lose another half stone.  Would like to lose around 1 stone but I'm not very good at sticking to things.
- By calmstorm Date 02.04.08 03:11 UTC
kiger ......try looking on cambridge diet website for a local supplier. Lighter Life is another similar diet, also with a website. if you wanted to 'taste test' any of these, people sell them on ebay, although you must ensure you are not on medication, or suffering with a medical problem which would make the diets unsafe for you. :)
- By Fluffydog [gb] Date 02.04.08 14:45 UTC
Lost 1 stone so far (would have been more but i put 5 lbs back on).  You might remember my post quite a while ago about hubbie remarks he always made but he has been strangly quiet about my weight loss so far.  Am judging in May and i want to get into a pair of black trousers that i have for that - the button and hole are getting closer to meeting again so i might just make it by the end of May (even if i can't sit down) i'll be wearing them.

Come to think of it perhaps i shouldn't i wouldn't be able to bend down either to look at the small dogs move if they are still that tight.

Need another judging apponitment towards July/August time.

I've lost 35lbs in about 9 weeks, so feeling quite pleased.

Got a new haircut and a few new clothes today :D :D :D
- By Dogz Date 02.04.08 17:46 UTC
Wow!
Well done to you and keep going.
It's a good feeling when you are winning.

Karen ;)
- By Nikita [gb] Date 02.04.08 18:02 UTC
Blimey Twirly, well done!

I've lost a grand total of 4lbs.  Still.  Since January 2nd.  :-(

But, I've been down to Lincoln to a running shop today and bought some proper running shoes, I'm getting running clothes on saturday and then I can start running with the dogs.

I'm eating chips right now - the last two days were a bust because it was Remy's birthday yesterday and we have blueberry muffins at every doggy birthday :-P But I've been feeling iffy the last couple of days, no doubt down to the utter cr@p I've been eating lately so it really is time to sort myself out.  The running will give me a boost - I run better if I eat properly.
- By killickchick Date 02.04.08 18:51 UTC
Ok all you lot.
You've inspired me ( and kicked my butt :) )so will start my diet tomorrow. Gave up smoking in Oct for health reasons and promptly put on 2.5 stone!!! Would like to lose 2 stone, 1 at least by summer. Not going to do a specific diet, just eat healthily and more to the point properly. My biggest thing is bread in any shape and form so that has really got to go. Oh yeah, suppose I'll have to exercise wont I ? ( please say no!!! )
Well done to you all and hope I can achieve such good results too!!

Colleen

My neighbour and i were supposed to be taking up jogging - we did start power walking (well walking fast anyway) but unfortunately my neighbour decided she couldn't fit it in with her schedule.  She works part-time and i'm full time but i am still doing the walking every evening after i have taken the dogs out.

Thanks everyone reading this has inspired me to keep going.

Well done! can't wait to get the stage of being able to buy some new clothes.................I've managed 8lbs in 3 weeks so far :-)

Well done to everyone else too......
- By Fluffydog [gb] Date 04.04.08 10:18 UTC
Am just about to try a diet that says lose a stone in three weeks.  I thought it was going to be one of those that say eat nothing for the first three day of the week or one lettuce leaf per day but it actually lets you eat properly (although a lot of it does seem to be salad).

Got to get the food today so will start tomorrow (after i finished this bag of crisps only joking).

Will let you know if its any good.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 04.04.08 10:53 UTC
To be honest there is no magic diet it is simply less calories in than expended equals weight loss.

By making sensible choices you can eat more low calorie things and fewer high calorie things so that the volume of what you eat remains the same.

Small adjustments can make a huge difference.

Cutting out hard cheese altogether can make a huge difference if cheese is something you like, as well as cutting out pastry altogether and reducing the amount of bread you eat, forging butter/butter substitutes, and using skimmed or semi skimmed milk.

Then stop frying anything and if you have to use the spray fats or frylight.  Eat only lean meat and fish.  Eggs are good too.

I must admit for someone who hates to have to buy this or that I like the weight watchers system of points counting (as simpler than adding up all the calories), and it encourages a reduction in saturated fat, as an item with high sat fats uses more of your points.

Within the framework of having a pint of milk or equivalent (for calcium) and at least five a day fruit and veg you can eat what you like.

The reason my diet failed is that after I reached goal I lost the buzz of loosing weight and maintaining weight still required self discipline of sticking to a healthy sensible diet.  Instead I started binging/comfort eating on the old favourites, chocolate, lots of carbs, and puddings.

Well today I am 15st 1 lb, lost 23lbs since new year, much slower loss than last time so maybe I can stick at it this time as it is going to take at least a year.
- By sara1bee [gb] Date 04.04.08 16:48 UTC
if you cut out hard cheese altogether and like it you will be riding for a fall! i got down to goal once for 2 years but over time it piled back on so i gave up. dieting for life is needed and i feel life is too short!
- By Nikita [gb] Date 04.04.08 19:47 UTC

> If you ever fancy venturing a bit further down, I will take you out for a run :D

I may take you up on that Lea!

When I can run more than a few feet :-P

can you only buy the cambridge diet on the internet? or can you buy it over the counter anywhere? thanks
- By Lea Date 06.04.08 18:21 UTC
If you look in your local paper there is often people advertising it in there.
Cambridge Diet from what I know (unless its changed over the years) is sold by representatives :)HTH
Lea :)
- By tessisbest [gb] Date 06.04.08 18:24 UTC
thank you lea i will look in paper, oh i need to get in my summer clothes and feel comfortable
- By melster122 Date 07.04.08 09:25 UTC
You can only buy Cambridge Diet from special counsellors (as well as Ebay but they charge you a lot more). If you look at the cambridge website www. cambridge-diet.com and look under counsellors you will be able to find one in your area.  You then need to make an appointment to see one and they will go through your medical history.  Each week you go and get weighed and pick up all your food for the following week :)

It really is a good diet and contains all the nutrients you need. I have lost 38lbs in 9 weeks and am feeling so much happier and healthier.
- By Asa [gb] Date 07.04.08 18:17 UTC
Been on a diet since mid Jan...weightwatchers.Haven't stuck to it religously as I've some nights out, work do's etc and have had the odd week where I've lapsed completely and binged on crap. However have lost a total of 18.5lbs so down to 14.11 now.Had a nice boost last night cos one of the blokes at work( they don't know I'm on a diet) said 'god what have you been doing cos the weights dropped off you!'...well chuffed.
I'm being realistic and will be more than happy to get into an easy size 14/size 12.
Nikki
- By Nikita [gb] Date 07.04.08 20:42 UTC
Well done Nikki!

I'm getting it the other way round at work - they're all telling me not to lose weight cos they reckon I look fab now.  Well, if the married man who's after me is anything to go by I can't be that bad! (insert shocked smiley here!)  Of course, I'm always holding my belly in at work :-P But I don't tell them that!!
- By Brainless [gb] Date 08.04.08 00:17 UTC
In Response to Asa

Hey Nikki how is that for co-incidence, similar weight and I didn't really start doing things properly since Mid Feb, but admit to the odd lapses.

I think I won't go down so far this time as when I got down to 10 stone (10/12 clothes) I just could not maintain it, and getting from 11 something down to that took herculean effort with excessive work at the gym and minimum points.

This time I will be more realistic and like you be Happy with a 12/14 and hopefully a weight I might be able to reach and maintain.

When I started regaining weight I just lost heart and just got down and put it all back on.
- By Asa [gb] Date 08.04.08 14:41 UTC
Hi Barbara
yes your right...coincudence or what LOL
I've up and downed all my life and had never been above 12 stone until I started working nights....esay to blame things I know but at the end of the day its my fault ...after all I'm the one who puts the c*&p in my mouth!!
weigh in tonight...had a bad couple of weeks and didn't weigh in last week so will be happy with maintaining.Back on track now though.18.5 lbs down....56ish to go!!!!
- By Asa [gb] Date 08.04.08 18:28 UTC
1/2 lb on...not as bad as it could have been! Have eaten anything and everything over the last couple of weeks...from fajitas to pizzas, cream cakes to chocolate(and I don't mean just 1 or2!!!)Been back on my diet for 2 days so putting on 1/2 lb isn't bad at all.
- By kiger [gb] Date 12.04.08 09:50 UTC
i lost 4lbs this week! so that is 23lbs in 4weeks!!!
- By Asa [gb] Date 12.04.08 12:13 UTC
Cricky....thats quick!
- By tessisbest [gb] Date 12.04.08 16:34 UTC
kiger- have you lost all that weight on the lipotrim? where do you get it from and how much? can you tell im a desperate women!!!!
- By kiger [gb] Date 13.04.08 23:02 UTC
hi sorry late reply,
yeah i lost i the weight on lipotrim, ive done quite a few diets but i wasnt getting the results quick enough so i took drastic action and started lipotrim.you get it from the chemist, at my chemist it costs 36pounds a week which i know is expensive but if you really are desperate to lose weight like i am, then you are nearly willing to do anything!! you get weighed in and health checked every week at the chemist, its like an extream slimfast diet.let me know if you do got on it.ive got loads of tips and stuff.:-)
- By melster122 Date 14.04.08 07:47 UTC
The Cambridge Diet is good too for quick weight loss.  I have lost 40lbs in 9 weeks.  The weight loss has slowed down a lot now that I am nearly at my healthy BMI.  Mine cost £35 a week for 21 sachets of soup, milkshake or bars.  You go to a counsillor every week to get weighed and there are plenty of flavours to choose from.
