Does anyone know of a website that runs free checks on cars in the UK, to see if they have previously been stolen, in a crash or have outstanding HP?

Naomi ...should have emailed me ;) Rac.co.uk have a link to HPI who do the car checks....you have to pay though
Here(hopefully):)

Naomi, my hubby works for a leasing company. He'd probably be able to check it out for free for you, if there's just one or two you want. Email me if you'd like him to check.

Having offered, we're away on holiday from Sunday to a week on Tuesday, and Phil won't be back in the office till the Thursday, so it depends when you need the info. Sorry if it clashes:(

Just got your email. I've sent hubby the details. Hopefully he'll get back to me soon. Will email you at home.

www. autotrader.co.uk have a good link to it.
You can do 2 types of HPI a cheap one which gives you 3 or 4 tries with different cars it helps you shive out bad eggs I believe.
Then the full HPI.
