I have started my pups (3 1/2 weeks old) on some soaked puppy food (4 meals per day plus milk from mum when she wants to) so I thought I'd have to put some water in their puppy box also. Thing is I am frightended they will drown in it so I am only putting in about 1/2 inch deep with water. They keep walking through it and/or knocking it over.
im using a small hook on bowl on my puppy panels, i dont put much in but is off the ground so cant be stood in or knocked over easily! (ive jinxed it now they will no doubt prove me wrong!)
I buy the stone light brown dishes found in nearly all pet stores. Think they say DOG on them :-) Definately available in Pets at home. They are really heavy and can't be tipped. I use them for my adults to. I even have the biggest size for my adult boxer as she picks any other dish up and walks around with them then cries when she gets wet. Problem well solved when I started using these.
Used to use those when I bred rabbits as I always found the bottles a pain as if they got bedding up against the spout they would drain and soak the bedding.
I did have one sod of a Rabbit who could pick up even the large ones I used when I had litters.
I had a hook on bowl for mine, I expected to have to show them where it was and how to lap, but they just walked straight over and started drinking - clever little things! I miss them.... :-D
