Hi Guys
Thanks to SaraW for letting me know - Douglas' first critique is in Our Dogs this week. SaraW very kindly e-mailed me the details as I don't get Our Dogs, so can't wait to get my hands on it now. It is such a fab critique that I'm back on Cloud 9 again. Also this week in Dog World Bart has a critique under Jersey. So at long last we have some critiques to work on.
Thanks again SaraW.

Not a problem at all Dessie :) I was nearly as excited as you will have been when I spotted it :D :D :D :D
2 lovely reports on him :) Something tells me Mr Bunce quite liked the little boy ;) :D
I'll have a read of Barts in DW when I do a magazine swap next week with Phoes breeder :)
Phoe managed to get her name in OD but that was all in this one for her 2nd in AV MPB at Horncastle - I'm now hoping the gundog write up will be in next weeks edition so I can see what was said about her 1st.

its always nice to have a critique published about your dog
gives you something to work on for the future
What annoys me more than anything though is the way that they always ask the first two placed dogs to stay while the judge takes his/her notes and then either only actually writes a critique on the first dog, or worse still, doesnt even bother to send his critiques into any paper at all for publication
what is the point of taking notes if you have no intention of getting them published
i have it in my mind now to start asking every judge that i get placed under which paper he/she is going to be sending the critique to and what timescale
in the last 4 months ive been to a show nearly every weekend, sometimes 2 in a weekend if they have been available, yet i have only seen three critiques, and only 1 of those from a breed judge
Sorry
rant over
normal service is resumed :)

Hi zigger, when I have judged ,the show secretary that you are judging for, supplies you with a judges box, which contains rosettes ,judging book, and two brown envelopes. These envelopes contain letters from Our Dogs AND Dog World, which the judge is supposed to fill in and send with a critique to BOTH the dog papers, it isnt,(or at least shouldnt be) a matter of choice for the judge. In mho if a judge cannot be bothered to do this small task, then they shouldnt be accepting judging appointments!!!

Thanks for your comments ...
As you have said Ziggar when the critiques do appear in the Dog Papers it does give you inspiration and advice ie if they said trimming could be better, or handler needs to relax more, or a little overweight, something like that.
Douglas' critique was fab and Bart's which is in Dog World (Page 57 under Jersey) is great as well. But if they hadn't of been then hopefully the judge would have put it in the critique and you would know what you were doing wrong.

Hi Naomi
I don't get Our Dogs but SaraW kindly e-mailed me what the judge had written about Douglas. I'm hoping to get a copy or an Our Dogs now so that I can cut it out and keep it with all his bits from that show :D :D
Dog World has the Darlington Mal write up, it is on page 33. Nice write up for one of Jacquie's pups.

Hi Jane
Your welcome you've done so well with him ....
I'm back on Cloud 9 again after reading Douglas' (Kyna Charlie Brown at Derrindee) write up in Our Dogs. The judge really liked him which is fantastic.
Bart's posh name is - Dunnfisheau Monsieur Blue at Derrindee.
Thanks again guys and sorry to go on about this again .....
