help please, my bitch has been in season for 8 days now and she is acting up infront of my dog, lifting her tail and other bit, could she be ready even though its been only 8 days, baring in mind the dog is snipped and hasn't a clue

She could be. I've had bitches mated on day 1 of their season & produced large litters!

every bitch differs, just like us! i don't think anyone will ever be able to predict reproductive cycles 100% as they are so easily influenced by different things

my bitch had 2 litters conceived on day 8

If you really  want to get the timing right, couple of things you could do. Is taking your bitch to vets for blood tests each day this tell if her hormone levels are just right they say she ready for mating. Well worth going especially if going to a breeder long way off, then  when you get there ,the  dogs are a no go. Or new the market is Mate Tel that tests by a swab from the mouth. Then of course their pot luck crossing your fingers as well. Or there's rubbing just above her tail see if it moves to one side that also gives you a idea also.

Good Luck

If a bitch is ready, then she is,whatever day it is.  I have a bitch that always has short seasons, and is frisky at day 6.  She has had 2 litters, and mated on day 8.  Her season always seems over by day 14.  I once had a mismate, but chose not to have the injection.  This particular bitch had odd seasons, and I didn't want her injected with hormones.  She was young and healthy, and I decided that if she was pregnant, so be it.  I had, in my mind, taken sensible precautions during her season.  The mating took place on day 28!  Afterwards, when discussing with my vet, he told me that he wouldn't have given the injection, thinking it unnecessary, as she wouldn't be pregnant.  You guessed it - super easy whelping of 5 pups!  So it's definitely true that bitches vary hugely.
