I would like to become a qualified dog groomer, can anyone point me in the right direction for qualifications?
Not sure I can be much help, but suggest you check your local colleges for any grooming courses. We have a place near us called Hartpury college and I know that they offer grooming courses. It believe it helps if you have a dog to take along to practise on !!

If it's just for your own dogs, then contact with a kindly breeder/show owner would be sufficient to learn to groom the breed correctly under their guidance ;) your own dog's breeder might be able to help or to put you in touch with someone fairly local to you, or failing that you could meet people at open shows who might be willing to help :) This is how I started out and to be honest a grooming school would NOT have been able to show me how to groom/present my breed correctly ;)
Good idea I will talk to her and perhaps when we are living back in the UK I can take one of them over and she can guide me. As a rule Cavvies don't need trimming but our eldest needs some areas trimmed. Grooming I am fine with and I have to do this every evening as they get all sorts attatched to their coat from their muddy walks! :-)

Hi
I recently did a two day breed specific course at a college - really enjoyed it. The one I did it at was an agrictulture college so I dont know if you would have one of those near but worth a look,
Not yet I don't but fingers crossed we will be back in the UK later in the year :-)

I have my interview on tuesday to see if I can get on to the city and guilds course then I may in the future be able to be a dog groomer - if I get made redundant from the good old city of London...
