I was looking for something on ebay and saw many item from Crufts 2008 being sold from anything from £50-£100 . Could you sell something like that, that you had worked so hard to achieve. the very next day

I think with the recent explosion on e-Bay of Pedigree paraphernalia such as BOB Crufts bags going for several hundred pounds, BOB towels going for in excess of £100 and silly prices even for car stickers then some exhibitors might just want to recoup a little of the expenditure over the showing season (after all these prices although ludicrous for what they are bear no relation to the cost of campaigning a quality dog throughout the year :) )

You only need one show bag, towels can last for years and stickers are just tacky on cars IMO so I guess not every one sees them as being a "must have"!

and stickers are just tacky on cars

ooooh no Teri - I LIKE my car stickers ( yes I know I'm a sad needy individual LOL )...now that Pedigree has stopped doing them, does anyone know if another company will be doing something similar ?

Afraid I am with Yvonne on this one! :) I love my stickers -not that I have many LOL. And they are SO handy for when you are off to a champ.show and are about to get lost -just find a car with lots of Pedigree stickers in the back and follow that and you're bound to end up in the right place!!

Walks off shaking head muttering "what's the world coming to" ;)

Buy a sat nav Marianne - discretion & directions built in :-D

LOL @ Marianne :-D

I do exactly the same :-D   On the way to a Breed Champ Show - our first, we spotted another exhibitors car, back window full of stickers, OH a bit dubious but my reasoning was how many cars do you see with stickers?      We followed, sometimes from in front   and both cars arrived safely at the venue, only for me to find out he was following me!!!!  :-D

I love the journey to Crufts, spotting the cars who are also going, spotting the people in the service station etc. :)   all adds to the fun :)

Lol Dill!!
I must admit I am the same, on our travels to shows and of course to Crufts we look out for the dog stickers, wheelcovers on 4x4's and the dog guards and cages in the back of cars!!!  LOL!!!
I love it, I have a sticker in our car with our breed on it, used to have a 4x4 with a personal wheelcover on it of our boy mika, until someone stole it! what would they want with a personilised wheelcover I ask you :(

OOh that brings back memeories - when Trev and I first started showing we followed a car with stickers on the back - turns out they were totally lost too but between us we made it to the venue and a life long friendship was born from that day so 25 years later HI to Karen  and David Angier of the Bilyara Border Collies and Australian Shepherds !!!!.

LOL Trev,

This happens all the time, I saw a car follow us at the weekend  We went into the gas station first and so did they BUT we were all laughing.

My friend last year followed a car with dogs in the back till the driver pulled up in their own driveway :-D :-D :-D

Now you don't get THAT with Sat Nav!!!!! :D

I love my stickers and I don't even have a car or drive.  I had them all around the edge of living room window.  Took them down when re-decorated, but will sneak them back up soon when my daughter who thinks they and rosettes make the place tacky is in a good mood.

My friend had her car stolen and was most upset as the car was replaceable but the stickers were not.

>my daughter who thinks they and rosettes make the place tacky

She sounds like my kind of girl Barbara LOL.

When we first started showing the dogs had a wall each in the diningroom for their rosettes, ch show prize cards, SB Certs etc and daughter had one too for her JH ones but even then we didn't go down the sticker route ;)   One time a new window cleaner commented on the dogs must be valuable to have done that amount of winning and that was the end of that (and him!)

Since then 15yrs + nothing to do with showing has ever been on display.  CCs & certs etc are filed away in folders with health reports and rosettes recycled to anyone who needs them with the exception of speciality ones which live in the dogs' individual folders :)

I really don't like car windows etc adorned with anything - radio stickers, garage advertising, the awful garfield type toys and even tackier jocular ones that seem to be the norm (my other car is a porsche >insert roll eyes here!!!< ).
Don't even get me started on private reg nnumbers than need an explanation tagged on underneath ROFPMSL

Guess it takes all kinds (apologies, going off topic and into tangent :-D )

Teri me to.. As soon as a new car comes out the forecourt the tacky label is peeled off the car. Whether Arnold Clark or BMW... I hate any sort of labels, stickers.
- By luvhandles Date 12.03.08 21:32 UTC
Arnold Clarke stickers are hideous I must admit.
- By Dude Dog [gb] Date 12.03.08 22:41 UTC
I guess quite a few of those bags etc are not just BOB freebies as I have a few for winning or placing in various handling classes (theyre still printed with BOB on) so the ones i got were either just a sponsorship deal or maybe leftovers??
