My 5 month old Cavalier King Charles Puppy has been having dry food for some time but appears to be getting bored with it.  I did try changing the brand which she seemed to really enjoy at first but now she just sniffs it and walks away.  I have cut her down to 2 meals a day to see if this makes any difference but it doesn't seem to.  In order to try and get her to eat it I have probably made a mistake by trying to vary her food by adding water, gravy, chicken etc, which she thoroughly enjoys (eating all the chicken and leaving the rest). Should I persevere with the dry food, try another brand or keep adding bits to it, or will this just make her fussy.

My 5 months old Papillon was like this. I'd never quite believed it when people said they could do nothing to get a dog to eat but she would literally starve for a day or so, then just pick at her food. Eventually I just followed the advice I'd always given to others -put the food down for a short while, and if it wasn't touched, remove it. Within a few days yes she did lose weight (and she is tiny to start with), but then realised she best eat when the food was on offer. Now she doesn't get the same variety as before (I used to add cheese and goats milk and scrambled eggs and all sorts to her food to entice her to eat), but she eats really well and finishes quickly.

Thanks for that advice.  In fact someone else had recommended the same thing.  I will try it.
