Well i have just returned from Crufts with the family and had a good look around, something i didnt get to do friday with the dogs. We sat ringside at an empty ring and my little boy ate an ice cream while we rested our feet. My little lad then decided he would like to show his stuffed labrador, so off he went and ran around the ring with his dog and was then joined by a little girl and her stuffed dalmation. This went on for a good 10 minutes, having the time of his life. The ring steward who had been sorting out his bits for the next breed then came over to them and made them line their dogs up, do a triangle and go back to him , then gave them both a lovely rosette. My little lad got a lovely 2nd and the little girl a 3rd. Its not a bad state of affairs when the stuffed dogs do better than my real ones at Crufts!hahaha. I just thought it was so lovely of him to do what he did and not just grumble at them as so many would have.
On another note, im totally in love with otterhounds. They are so gentle and such lovely looking dogs.
fingers crossed for Jafrak Phillippe Olivier for BIS!

ah bless! That's so sweet, a junior handler in the making eh ;)
my hubby was very taken with the Otterhound too when we saw it on TV, never seen one in the flesh..
:)
Think thats lovely. A great way for children to feel part of it. And to give them a rosette was really good of them.

Ahh that's sooooo cute!

That's really nice, and a good momento of the day :) When I was stewarding on Sunday in the Borzoi ring, one the other stewards I was with, he did the same thing which I thought was a really nice thing to do just to see the childrens faces light up. Quite possible the same guy I reckon. My Mum even got a rosette at the end much to her embarrassment as she'd made a comment of wanting one LoL takes pride of place in her kitchen now!

Aww that would have been lovely to watch! Maybe I should start teddy ringcraft with my little cousins LOL!:-)
Could possibly have been the same man. A little white haired old guy. We were in the ring before the Otterhounds were due to be judged at 3.30!
Yes jack is very proud of his rosette too and even took it to nursery to show his teacher what he won at Crufts!

That would be a different man then (judging was still going on for us!), though it's nice to know that there are others that do that :) It's nice to see how their faces light up and how it really makes their day.
aw I bet he's proud! It's not everyday you win a Crufts rosette!
