Hi I have a 5 month old Aussie pup who I am thinking about showing. She is a natuarl bob tail. I wondered if there is a max length her tail should be as I haven't seen any around with a tail like hers. It is about 13cm. Thanks for your help.

Her tail is fine.  Aussie tails can be of any lenght :)

Hi Diana,
You will be fine showing your bitch with her tail.

The tailed Aussies are just hitting the showrings now and there are all differing lengths from quarter tails to full tails and everything in between.
It all makes for interesting times as we watch the judges cope with tailed and tailess Aussies :-)

Thank you for your replys.
I went to Crufts at the weekend and didn't see any with a tail her length so got a bit concerned.
Now I just need to teach her to stand still and not sit all the time!

Hi Diana,
The docking ban only came in, in April last year so puppies who were born after that ban wouldn't have had time to qualify at Champ Shows as our last years CC's finished at WKC in August.
There were puppies out at Manchester Champ Show apparently with all different tail lengths and our friend has an 8 month old bitch with a 'lambs tail' and she is lovely... We were looking at her brother when he was available but decided to wait as we had too much else to contend with.

Where are you based ?? Do you have a local ringcraft class that you could take her to ?
Standing will come with time...... you just need to make everything fun at her age. She will be fine :-)

Hi Gabrielle
I live in Southampton we do have a ring craft class near by but I can't make the day its on so am doing her training at home. I worked for a breeder before (not Aussies) so hopefully will be able to do her trianing myself.
