What a nice thing being done to dog owners.  Nice to be recognised, after all people who stay with their dogs do pay a small charge...

That's great!  It is nice to feel that dogs aren't considered a nuisance by all!!  :)

Have stayed in Travelodges with dogs and child, there has never been a problem, dogs and child always have a wonderful welcome :)

Nice to see they are geared up for Crufts too :)

It's a nice publicity stunt, but to be honest what most people want is somewhere they can put up a crate for the dog to sleep in, so that they can leave them safely when they go for a meal, and know they cannot damage or dirty the room, or accidentally escape when the room is being cleaned.

On the ground floor close to an exit, is a bonus, and somewhere designated for use as a toileting area with a bin provided are more important.

Something I have found useful is to book online, as opposed to over the phone, then you do not get put in a smokers room.
Thinking about it, do they still have smoking and non smoking?

It's all a PR stunt they know how much money is their for them on this weekend. Still a nice thing to do, but only after they look after their-selfs

What are they like to stay in?

Are they nice or cheap and cheerful?

Hi,
Think that is really nice. Have used Travelodge with dogs a few times.
Their rooms vary in price depending on where you stay and when you book. If you book in adavnced you can get rooms for as little as £29 per night - plus £10 for the dog.
They are basic, but have always found the rooms clean and the staff friendly.

I suffer a bit from anxiety when away in strange beds :-)  I don't know why.

I am actually OK in travel lodges because each one is basically the same, same colours, bedding sheets etc.  There are a few poorer ones in London etc but the ones I have used up and down and around the M6 for the last 4 or 5 years have been fairly good.

I book all my travel lodge rooms at the beginning of the year for the whole show year, some are bargains some are not but they are then all booked and paid for :-)

For Crufts we tend to book ones about 45 mins to 1 hour away as they are not so busy at night or in the morning.

Well we stayed in a travelodge Wednesday night but... Alas! No 'pooch bed' for my Oscar! So he snuggled in with me hehe :-D
