hi i have a bitch 11 month that has just come out of season start of last week. i have noticed her nipples are still really big - is this normal.

The teats and g#nitals do not go back to pre-pubescent size, both becoming slightly larger and more prominent during the first season and, although shrinking back again, not ever quite so discretely hidden again.

Hi I was worried about my girl too, as her teats didn't go back to their pre-season size, her breeder said to keep an eye on her in case she had a phantom, but she was fine, I guess she has her grown-up teats now :)

I've never had a bitch get big nipples just for being in season!  Vulva has always got big but never nipples.

Mine did!! Her teats went to about 4 times the pre-season size, and are now about 2 thirds of that size.....it was a bit of a shock! Bless.

Her vulva looks marginally bigger than before, that was HUGE during her season too, I swear it was as big as my fist!!!! But luckily went down quite quickly when she finished.

Just to clarify, I didn't mean they grew more every[/] season LOL   Only when pre their *first ever* season they are almost invisible but thereafter they become and remain prominent :)  Not filled with milk or anything (as in phantom) just slightly larger than when a puppy (similar to the change in the post season v@lva).

not paranoid at all.....I was exactly the same with my girl, you just notice when things are different ;)

I'll know for next time with a bitch that I have from a puppy, the other girl I have was 3 when she came to me, so I didn't have any of these queries either...we live and learn

yes cos before she had her season you could hardly even see them and now they seem really big.

My affie girl developed bigger nipples after her first season.....and they stayed their new size. It wasnt a phantom, as she has never had one of those. Its just part of growing up :-)
