You sometimes get a documentary about the Iditarod in the autumn - that's about as good as it gets. There is much better coverage on the internet. Go to www.iditarod.com and you can get all the up-to-date information about the race as well as video coverage (for a small fee). This year's Iditarod is particularly interesting for us in the UK because a Brit is taking part - Kim Franklin, who owns Malamutes in the UK, is running a team of Tim Osmar's Alaskan Huskies. There are also four mushers running teams of purebred Siberian Huskies this year - Blake & Jennifer Freking, Karen Ramstead and Wayne Curtis. The race started today, but the first day is just a ceremonial start. The real race starts tomorrow.
