Hi guys

Im hoping to move to spain within 2 years.  I work for the UKs leading hair and beauty group and I have been given the opportunity to open a business the same as I own in the UK over in spain.  However I have to do all the research myself and put this to the board.

I was wondering if any one out there lived in spain who could help or if anyone knows any chat rooms for ex pats living in spain?

To start with I need to find the area with the highet amount of english people living there on a permanant basis with a high disposable income.

I'm sooo jealous, I love Spain, but mainly the true Spain.  Don't know what it's like in La Linea (don't know whether that's the right spelling, but it's near to Gibraltar so you could get people coming from there.  May not be the best place though as it always looks a bit of a down area to me.  I'm sure that someone will be able to help you though, anyone heard from Christine lately?

Don't know many details, but my dad lives in Alicante - apparently it's full of ex-pats and a lot of english people, but I don't have actual figures.  I could ask next time I speak to him though.

My father lived out in Spain for some years - but he was avoiding the ex-pat community :)  He's on holiday at the moment but when he gets back, I'll ask him.  I seem to remember some friends of his had a place in Javea and he used to comment on the number of Brits, but I'm not too sure whether that was more holiday or full time living.

there are loads of english speaking chat rooms over here in Spain and some are area related others are just general, there is also a new one just started for horse lovers.  Once you get going on the net over here you will soon find some. 

You lucky devils!  THinking of getting my dog pet passported and doing a couple of Cani-Cross events in Spain next year! 

it's good over here, we have been here 6 years now, but animal keeping is not as clean cut as the UK, this time of the year we have to watch for the processionary caterpillars and then in the summer we have the dreaded sand fly that casues leishmaniasis, touch wood mine are clear, we use the scalibor collar every summer and then we have the ticks and fleas, but would not move back to the UK for all th tea in china!

Ooh yeah, seen an article about the caterpillars!  Wish when I could afford it 10 years ago that I'd bought a place in Spain rather than England, but it will happen one day I'm sure of that!
