Have entered show this coming weekend in AV Gundog puppy as no breed classes for us. There is no AVNSC gundog class. (Just AVNSC)
Can the Best AV gundog and best AV gundog puppy still go in the group?
Been a long time since I had to go in AV's!!

normally in a group show only the best of breeds, best NSC, and best puppies of the same can go through.  AV's can't go through to the group.

I think there maybe an exception to this for AV puppy and AV vetran but haven't got my red book with me.  If there is then the best AV puppy would be able to go through to the group, but not the best AV adult.

As there is no breed puppy class then you could go into the puppy group from AV gundog, although not the adult group.

You will need to check the schedule to see if the AV Gundog Puppy is to be judged before the group.

In my experience those classes are most often judged after the group, although I have been in the position of having one of two American Cocker puppies in the puppy group at one particular show. The other having come though from AV Gundog Puppy which was judged before the group on that occasion.

Surely if there's no AVNSC then they can go into the group?  Or has the show committee done an error in their classifications?

I think the poster meant no NSC for each group.  Some shows only have NSC for all groups in together and the winner of that goes forward to it's respective group.

Yes, sorry, no AVNSC for each group. Only 4 NSC classes for all groups (pup,junior, grad & open) which seems very unfair as only 1 dog that is not classified goes forward to the group.
