Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / URGENT-Possible fading puppies

Hi

I had a litter of 8 pups 6 days ago, one died after 24 hours, another died today. All were strong healthy pups, the mother had her 2 CHV jabs at the normal times, mother is fit and well.
I had a problem with FPS some 10 years ago nearly losing a whole litter but managed to get a homeopathic remedy couriered to me that saved the  remaining pups in the litter. The remedy was called fading puppies remedy and was made by Richard Croft of Tridex Marketing.  Does anyone know if this company is still in existance and have any contact details, if not do you know of anyone else that supplies this remedy, I googled it and there is a company in ISA that sells his products but I dont have time to get it shipped from the USA. I am starting to get worried about the other pups, all ok at moment but from previous experiences they can go down within hours of looking perfectly 'normal' .
WILL BE REALLY GREATFUL FOR ANY IMMEDIATE HELP- THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Sorry cant help on where to get the fading puppy remedy, just wanted to say, hope everything goes o.k. over the next couple of days, I lost one from my last litter at 4wks, managed to keep him going all that time, so I know how hard it is.

If you do a search on this site, there is a brilliant post somewhere about plasma (I think) from a healthy dog.  I'm a bit vague on details, just know it was amazing.

What a fantastic read, my friends pups seam to be sniffling at the moment and this has now got me thinking and worrying.  They have just a snffle but I have never had this any advice or is it a vets job.  I'm spending more time with these pups than she is.

Linda, There is a lot of kennel cough going aroud at the moment, may be worth getting them checked out for this as it can kill tiny pups. To the OP I hope that the rest of the puppies are well and that they continue to thrive. Good luck with them and I do hope it is not FPS

Just to let you know that my pups are well.  I had an appointment with friend at 2.40 but phoned my vet and said cant wait need to be seen now.  They do have the sniffles but that is all I have to keep an eye on them and let him know in a few days.  all temps norm. tripled weight in a week anyway i have said to friend it best if they stay with me so bitch and pups now here.  I always sleep downstairs with mine so an monitor more closely.

Linda

ps thanks for all the positive thoughts.

good luck with your puppies.
D x

I had a pup in my recent litter that i thought i was going to loose at 2 weeks of age, started this remedy on the sat and he was much brighter by the sunday and is coming on in leaps and bounds now.

You can get the remedy by calling John Angel at Tridex Marketing 01277 213251.

As you all know the pups are at mine now and thriving they have put on over 200g in a week which I think is good for a toy breed but I am still concerned that they have still got this cold and it doesn't seam to be going.  Not sure If I should take them to my regular vet instead of keep seeing a locum.  What do you all think?  or am I just over reacting.

hi i heard of synolux aswell wich is suppost to be good for fps
- By Brainless [gb] Date 02.03.08 12:07 UTC
Synolux is a broad spectrum antibiotic.

I was prescribed it after I lost two pups and the rest were becoming floppy, they perked up within a couple of hours.  This was my and the bitches second litter.

She had had gastro enteritis about 10 days before whelping and I suspect that this may have been the cause of the fading.

I was very angry with the Vet as I probably would not have lost the second pup had the Vet taken me seriously and seen me out of hours (things were going wrong during Sunday).  I changed Vets.

Just been back to the vets with my sniffly pups there is only one sniffly now but seams worse to me, he said they be ok so I said wanted to see usual vet he came in I explained and he has given them all an antibiotic shot just in case and they now have synulux and are going back on Friday why do some people never listen the locum got bollocked.  she is feeding and everything I was just worried that she was not getting better so fingers crossed now.
