Hi all
in your experience does fading puppy syndrome tend to manifest in the first 24/48 hours or so or can it start at anytime as one of my seemingly healthy litter passed away today 4 days old, so i am really worried for the rest, i have lost puppies before only one per litter but it has normally been in the first 2 days. Is there anything that you would be doing now other than keeping a close eye on them.

Hi, My friend lost almost a full litter and they started at day 5. Id be keeping a very close eye on them and perhaps a word with your vet to ask if there is anything you could do or he could give to prevent the rest being lost if it is FPS. Ive never had any experience on this so sorry i cant give more advice. I hope your remaining puppies stay healthy.
Good luck.

just back from the vets with whispa and the 7 remaining puppies, was just told to keep an eye on her, their hearts sound well and whispa is well so fingers crossed.

regarding the FAD syndrome i have used natural yogurt but it must contain the LACTOBILLICUS live bacteria as this helps the new puppy intestine to build up the immunity system quickly fighting this problem . i got this must have info from one of my breeding books a few years ago. you just have to allow a teaspoon full to warm to body temp and allow the puppy to lick it from your finger. it did work for all 6 of my shiddy pups all were very healthy little bundles of fun. Hope this helps.
