As a lot of you know 3 weeks ago I got another Husky Zak (9 month old) as a play mate for Missy and I just thought I'd give you an update. Hes really settled in well and really looks to Missy for what to do. When we first got him he a bit underweight and quite nervous - cowered if you moved to quickly :( never made a noise, would not jump in the car or go upstairs but his confidence has really grown and hes now tearing around the house and garden with missy. He even barked for the first time today :) I was so excited! He happily plays with Missy but still won't play with toys unless hes chewing them. I threw a ball for him yesterday and he just sat there as it bounced off his head! Weve discovered he is excellent on the lead, knows basic commands and is really friendly towards all people and plays happily with other dogs. Even though we are his 3rd owners somebody has spent a lot of time training and socialising him. Zak and Missys personalities really seem to complement each other - she is very confident so is helping him face things hes nervous about (Missy is nervous about nothing!) and he is very calm and is having a calming influence on her. I feel he may have been heading for rescue if we had not got him but he has definately found his forever home :D
