Well they say a fool and his money are easily parted. Just look at what
this bag sold for!

Good grief, just looked at how much for the towel - and I've been drying the dogs with mine

Not such a fool tho if the buyer wants to give the impression that their dogs are better than they are ;) there'd be a financial reason for that I bet ;)

So do you win if you get BOB or is it every winner ?
Seems a bit on the steep side whatever :-)

Blimey, the buyer has also bought Crufts first place rosettes, I chucked one in the bin this weekend LOL.

This year Pedigree have stopped sponsoring shows so these things will no longer be available from them. I think that's partly how people are cashing in when selling them.
But yes, until this year, if you won BOB at a champ show you'd get one of these bags - along with many other assorted goodies (including things for BOS and BP) that I have to say will be missed by yours truly! I like my freebies greatly :-D
The only ones that are different are the Crufts bags (like the one just sold) which have BOB Crufts on them.

Gordon Bennet. Hmmmmmm I do have a big vet's bill............... ;)
What beats me is, what is the POINT of paying for something that you haven't won? It's almost cheating, isn't it.

I know M! It makes me wonder what on earth they want them for! One partilcular buyer has bought loads of stuff AND paid stupid prices for it!
Since seeing this ad I've been busy going through my dog cupboards and have found 3 bags and a towel all still in their original packaging and never used! Ebay here I come! LOL Hubby even said he might put his on there that I gave him to cart his fishing gear around in LOL.

Go for it! If people are daft enough to pay, you might as well! :)

Marianne there's a brand new BOB bag listed at the moment - 'buy it now' £80! If that gets taken I just might :-D

Whats sad is those Pedigree BOB towles, I've got a handful of them yet never won a BOB at a champ show. In 2000 everyone who went to the KCJO camp got one or two. I felt it downgraded what they stood for however stil excepted a free towel! Very useful when grooming the dogs! Should have sold them really and brough 10 times as many towels!!!! :-D

I'll have to tell my Friends who I have given these items too just how generous I have been LOL :D

£56.00 for a little Pedigree cool bag?!?!?! But but but but WHY?
M.

£92 for a TOWEL?!?
LOL, entertaining thread, the world really is mad isn't it?
M.

I have an unused one

But not for long, I suspect, Barbara ...

I don't play on ebay :D
Anyway might be unlucky and might never win a Ch show BOB again.
Seriously though who is sponsoring the Stakes classes this year?
Has anyone offered to give us those all important CC winners Car stickers (says she who doesn't have a car and has them neatly in an envelope, as the kids have banned me from sticking them around the Living room window :().
Barbara, why don't you go and buy a nice picture frame and stick the BOB stickers onto the glass and show them off that way ;-)
I don't think I'd want to give up any prize won by my dogs. They won fair and square, not me, so I'd be cheating them :-)

Keep those stickers Barbara! One sold last week £15!!!! *dies* I was having a laugh with Bernadette about it - told her I had 17 stickers in the desk drawer... she opened up her doggy cupboard and she's got 43!! Man, we could make a fortune! LOL
Debs

Oh not sure how many I have, must be at least 9 for general CC's for Jozi, and then Lexi's 3, but I also have a few Best of sex or BOB ones when we didn't have CC's, probably that makes around 20 altogether, then there are the BPIB ones.
Liked the Picture frame Idea but it would need to be quite large.

I heard Royal Canin are going to do car stickers, but the pic I saw of one wasn't impressive and didn't give the name and year of the show.

Or it might have been Iams!

i have sold off all mine on ebay over the years....except the BOB at crufts which I kept, and the BOS at crufts which I gave to my best friend. Even the car stickers have gone for up to £20 atime and I had hundreds!!!

Must tell my friend...he could fund this year's trip to Crufts from the proceeds of the sale of last year's BoB goodies!

Makes me laugh at open shows when exhibitors park up at the side of the ring and unpack their pedigree umberellas and BoB bags conveniently near the judges table.
Can,t see any point in it myself I,d much rather my dog won fairly and not because I,ve tried to influence the judge.
Some of these people I know for a fact have never won BoB at a champ show.
They must have been shopping on Ebay.

On the other hand they may simply be using the items :D I use the blankets at hoem for when I have a snooze on the sofa. I use the umbrellas at home and the chairs are very useful.

The towels get used for the dogs, the brollies get used all the time, the coolbags get used for picnics or packed lunches, blankets are used for sitting on, etc, etc. So when I use them at shows I never give what other people (including judges) are thinking a second thought to be honest!

bloodly hell

Surely the whole point of having these items is that the dogs have won them at a champ show/Crufts? so I don't really see the point of buying them unless it's to impress someone (we really need the rolling eyes smiley) any towel/bag etc would do the same job wouldn't it? :p
Would a judge really be more likely to 'put up' a dog if the owner is seen carting ione of these bags around? feeling really naive now, should have been carting my BIG BOB showbag to opens all this time LOL

I doubt it, except maybe at Companion shows.
By Dill
Date 20.02.08 22:21 UTC
Thank goodness for that, I have seen them at open shows but never really thought much about it, apart from them being a bit big really, I tend to just take me, the dog, a bottle of water, treats and a comb to opens :) all fits into little make-up bag :)

I think whoever bought that bag was out to impress ... but if you can buy all the things listed(on ebay) in the thread .. i bet the puppy farmers buy a lot .. and thats why the general public get taken in ... Don't want to make this into a debate ... but if you can buy things like this .. the unsuspecting public will not question this will they just think they have bought a crufts puppy or well placed show puppy ..

Yes, I've often thought Dalsetter should ask to see the prize card when you go to buy your rosettes at the champ shows - nothing to stop me buying a couple of Firsts or Seconds at every champ show round the year and making a mega impressive rosette board to impress puppy buyers!
By Dill
Date 21.02.08 11:49 UTC

I'm shocked, I've seen the Dalesetter stand at shows but just assumed that you would have to produce the card to get the rosette

I can see how someone breeding for money would take advantage of this to really impress puppy buyers who wouldn't know any different ~:(

Omg how stupid are those people?!
And seriously, what is the point? What a bunch of sad cases. They could have treated their dogs to a nice weekend away in a doggy friendly b&b for that. Ah well, mugs!
:-D

Woohoo...I'm off to look out all my pedigree bags and towels...I have a best in group umbrella - wonder how much that would sell for?? :-D :-D Oh...and a best of breed directors chair.......

I suppose there is also a chance that these people are buying the Pedigree items to keep and sell on in the future when it might well be worth a lot more. They will now be collectors items and who knows how much more people will pay for them in 10 or 20 years time.
