Oban is safely past his last set of vaccinations and today we went to a nearby spot frequented by dog walkers.  Funny little guy, he had no idea there were so many other dogs in the world and he was very good with all he met.  Mind you most were much bigger than him and by coincidence we met up with all at just about the same time so I think he was overwhelmed.  I was very pleased with him.  He even came when I called him from following the other dogs and I think he impressed a few of the owners.  Hope by posting this I don't jinx tomorrow's planned outing at a nearby neighbour's doggy training centre.   They have a free for all play session on Sundays so we'll see how that goes.  Today we were limited by the paths in the deep snow.  I was even using my snowshoes.  Tomorrow is in a big arena with more room to run around.

Well done Oban! I'm sure he'll grow up being a sociable and happy dog around others, already showing such confidence.

Thanks Karen.  After my earlier panic about his behaviour with a puppy guest I've discovered he is not so bad after all. 

We are having an absolutely wonderful winter here and I am a dedicated cross country skiing fanatic.  Puppy is too little to ski with, though I have had him out with me on snowshoes.   So I am missing some great skiing and I thought today, if I'd known what a great winter we were going to have I'd have delayed getting a puppy till spring.  And then I thought, if I'd known in advance what a wonderful funny little personality he was going to turn out to be there is no way I'd miss out on this puppy.

Today we met two dogs.  One a Great Pyrenees and the other a Pyrenees x GS.  They were both enormous.  Where the heck did all the little and medium sized dogs go to?
