I visited a friend who i havent seen for a while and they have a miniature schnauzer. I have only ever seen this breed in books and never took much notice of them, but seeing them in the flesh, well this is the breed for me.

She is small without being tiny, and so full of fun.

I have 2 cross bred dogs simply because i couldnt decide on what pedigree i wanted. I have had gundogs in the past, but 7 years ago when i wanted another dog i wanted something small but not delicate, i looked at different breeds but none of them were right, so in the end we went to the RSPCA and bought 2 smallish cross breeds. Now dont get me wrong we love our dogs and we would never part with them, but next time we get a dog we are getting a miniature schnauzer.

I know i said i want one now but 2 dogs is plenty for us. But how i wish i could have one now. :)

Yeah, they are a great breed with fun temperaments  We used to have someone come to our training club who did very well with the breed.  He also has whites which aren't really accepted over here but they were certainly stunning dogs.

Not trying to put a damper, but remember to do the research.  If you hadnt taken notice before now, and all of a sudden want one, then make sure before you comit to one for 10+ years. 

But they are a great breed.  Just please do some research.

Yes, of course do your research while you're waiting, gives you a chance to visit shows and choose which bloodline you want to get one from too. I don't know the breed well, but I agree they seem pretty good dogs - like my Cavs, they are small enough to cuddle and big enough not to be embarrassed by, and they are great characters! :-)

I wont be getting another dog until my 2 dogs are old and gone to rainbow bridge, and at present they are 5 & 7 years old, I would never rehome a dog just to get another dog, these dogs are like my children they are here to stay for life.

But when they have gone i shall buy a miniature schnauzer, and of course i shall do my research on them, i never buy anything without looking into it first.

I love these dogs and the giant ones are even more lovely :)  But I've got Copper and that is how it will stay.  Much as I do like other breeds, I can't see past my Border :)

I have got one!  She's nearly 5 months and after doing loads and loads of research we settled on a miniature Schnauzer and shes great!!  Easy to train, good with the kids, doesn't moult.......the list is endless!!!
