Lagottos have a breed club but it doesn't seem to have a Code of Ethics yet. :-(

Barbets are very, very rare in this country and are they KC recognised? I doubt they have a breed club or code of ethics. Lovely dogs though. edit; gosh there is a breed club now, wasn't a couple of years ago.

Some breed clubs just reference the KC code of ethics. http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/item/247

It appears a few have them but do not have them listed on their sites. Maybe if your own breed clubs do not have a link to the COF on their website, you could ask them to add it?

Hopefully, we can find the ones from the above list, that do have a link on their websites :)

Many thanks to everyone who is helping with this project :)

We are well aware of this and will include the COE from the originally founded club first.

If no link to the COE can be located on the original club website, hopefully the later estblished club will have the link we need.

It would appear that breeds that have more than one club tend to have near identical COE anyway.

I think that 'codes of ethics are a laugh! (sad laugh) you just have to read the current breed record sup.  Members are, ALL the time haveing more that the RECOMENDED llitters. Even the biggest breeder in the world have an average of six litters from their broods. not all are pedigree therefore do not go in the suppliment. I would think more of the breed clubs if they were to stop some of these people becoming members.  It wouldnt stop these folk breeding, but it would then look like the breed clubs were trying to do something.  Needed a moan. didnt get any floweres
- By Blue Date 14.02.08 19:19 UTC
Members are, ALL the time haveing more that the RECOMENDED llitters.  I think on the WWW you have to be a little more careful with your post wording. Whilst there may be some people don't follow rules the majority of breed club members in all breeds will follow the guidelines.   Everyone I know does.

The breed Record Supplement doesn't paint a pretty picture but in my breed those doing it are not breed club members.
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 14.02.08 19:32 UTC

>Members are, ALL the time haveing more that the RECOMENDED llitters.

Have you evidence for that sweeping statement? I know that my breed club committee study the BRS each quarter and club members who breach the Code of Conduct are censured, and a second offence can result in expulsion from the club. Remember that not everyone who registers a litter is a member of any breed club.

Not on the Club Website, as apparently it is waiting to be ratified at a forth-coming AGM:

CODE OF ETHICS FOR MEMBERS OF THE CESKY TERRIER CLUB
1. The well-being of the Cesky Terrier shall be the primary consideration of every member of the Cesky Terrier Club and is a condition of membership.
2. All members shall ensure that, at all times, all dogs under their control are properly housed, fed, watered, exercised and will receive proper veterinary attention if and when required.
3. Before breeding a litter of Cesky Terriers, equal consideration shall be given to type, temperament, health and soundness. Nervous or aggressive Cesky Terriers are not satisfactory as pets or breeding stock.
4. It is recommended that a Cesky Terrier bitch should not be expected to start breeding before she is 18 months old, nor be required to have an excessive number of litters (excessive would be more than 3 or 4), and no bitch should be bred from at every season with out regard to the well-being of the bitch.
5. Cesky Terrier Club members should do all in their power to discourage breeding from clearly inferior specimens. Members who own dogs are at liberty to refuse stud services to any bitch. Kennel Club registration papers and pedigrees should be inspected before a mating takes place.
6. Cesky Terrier Club members should only breed a litter of Cesky Terriers if they have the time and the facilities to devote proper care and attention to the rearing of the puppies and the well-being of the dam. Members should not provide stud services unless they are sure that the owner of the bitch has such time and facilities.
7. Cesky Terrier Club members should not breed a litter unless they are reasonably sure of finding homes for the puppies. It is recommended that puppies should not leave the breeder before the age of 8 weeks. Cesky Terriers for export should satisfy Department for Environment ,Fisheries and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) Regulations.
8. Cesky Terriers should not knowingly be sold to countries where dogs are not protected by anti-cruelty laws. If in doubt, consult the relevant Embassy for the destination country, the Kennel Club or Defra.
9. Cesky Terriers should not be sold knowingly to laboratories, pet shops or dealers in dogs, or to persons known to sell puppies to any of these; nor should stud services be provided for such persons. (A dealer is defined as any person who regularly buys puppies in the hope of selling them for a profit. A person who buys puppies as an agent for a known individual is not necessarily a dealer). No puppy should be offered as a prize in a raffle or competition.
10. Prospective buyers of Cesky Terriers should be screened for suitability and advised of the characteristics and health issues of the Cesky Terrier as a breed, and with regard to grooming and exercise. Each purchaser of a Cesky Terrier should be provided at the time of sale with a pedigree. A Cesky Terrier puppy that is of unregistered or partly registered stock should not be sold without the buyer being made aware. It is recommended that members undertake to test all breeding stock for Primary Lens Luxation (PLL) under the KC/BVA scheme; that members undertake to inform all purchasers of their puppies about Scottie Cramp: in particular, its symptoms, and the presence of known Scottie Cramp carriers in the pedigree of the puppy; that the results of all eye-tests, and the names of all known Scottie Cramp carriers be published annually in the club yearbook with their owners permission .
11. Cesky Terriers which have any physical defect or which show any definite departure from the standard should not be sold without the buyer being made fully aware of such defect or departure from the standard and its possible consequences. Such animal's registrations should be endorsed 'Progeny not eligible for registration'.
12. It should be impressed on buyers that they should contact the breeder in the event of any problem with the Cesky Terrier. Breeders should make every effort to be of assistance in these circumstances, and must accept responsibility for re-housing.
13 Buyers should be actively discouraged from purchasing 2 puppies from the same litter.
14 Advertising by members should be as factual as possible. Misleading exaggeration or unfounded untrue implications of superiority should not be used. Members should refrain from making unfair or derogatory statements about the dogs or practices of others.
15. Officers and committee members of the Cesky Terrier Club are always ready to do their best to help with any queries or problems.

No the Barbet isn't recognised by the KC and at the moment doesn't look as though it's going to be for quite a while!  They do have a website and I'm sure the owner of two of them will put details on as she is an occasional member!

Don't understand why though as our breed were KC registered as soon as they stepped out of quarantine.  Sometimes don't understant the rulings, but it looks as htough it's going to take the Barbet as long as us to be fully recognised, which was 16 years!
- By Brainless [gb] Date 16.02.08 14:59 UTC
The Australian shepherd was well established in the UK before it gained KC recognition and going on the import register where it spent very little time, and then quickly gained CC status too, only about the 15 years that I have been showing for most of this to happen.

Finnish Lapphund code of ethics

CODE OF ETHICS

PREAMBLE: The Code of Ethics is intended to serve as a standard of behaviour for all Club Members in any activities connected with the Finnish Lapphund.   Compliance with it is a condition of Membership of the Finnish Lapphund Club of Great Britain (see Rule 16).

RECORDS:
1.  Each Member who breeds from his bitch or uses his dog at stud shall keep accurate records of stock, bred and born, matings and pedigrees and will when requested make these available to the Breed Archives Secretary.
2.  Any information reported to the Committee, which casts doubt upon any registration, or pedigree shall be referred to the Kennel Club.

BREEDING:
3.  Each breeder shall plan each mating with the paramount intention of maintaining the Breed Standard and shall only breed when he is in a position to give proper care to both the bitch and offspring.

Members should follow these guidelines in regard to DNA testing and prcdPRA status.

a)  All breeding stock must be DNA tested for prcdPRA before being used in a mating programme, except where gene status is identified by parentage i.e. the progeny of two DNA tested clear dogs can be assumed to be clear and the progeny of DNA tested clear to affected matings can be assumed to be carriers.
b)  Identified carriers must only be mated to genetically clear dogs.
c)  Carriers can be mated to a DNA tested clear dog/bitch.  If this is done, the progeny of such a mating must be DNA tested to identify the carrier and clear progeny.  All untested progeny from such a mating must be endorsed `progeny not eligible for registration`.  Such endorsements to be lifted only after the dog/bitch has been DNA tested.
d)  Affected dogs must only be mated to a DNA tested clear dogs; all progeny must be endorsed `progeny not eligible for registration`.  These endorsements to be lifted only if the dog is to be mated to a DNA tested clear dog.

4.  Each breeder shall select sire and dam with regard to health and temperament after a careful study of the Breed Standard, the relevant pedigrees and the basic principles of genetics.  Each stud dog owner shall similarly consider these matters when contracting for the use of his dog.
5.  Each breeder shall safeguard his bitches from unsuitable matings.
6.  Breeders shall breed only from stock that is free from known hereditary defects.   On no account shall an animal of unsuitable temperament be bred from. If an animal is born with any defect or subsequently develops an inherited condition, the full details shall be made available to the Breed Archive Secretary.
7.  All stock prior to mating must be DNA prcdPRA tested except where the gene status is identified by parentage; eye tested for hereditary cataracts (HC), progressive retinal atrophy (PRA) under the BVA/KC or ECVO Scheme, i.e. a current annual eye certificate must be held prior to mating, and be examined under the BVA/KC Scheme for the control of Hip Dysplasia. Copies of the results should be made available to the Breed Archive Secretary and these may be made publicly available.

8.  As the Finnish Lapphund is a late maturing breed no breeder shall breed from any bitch, or allow his dog to be used on any bitch before she is 18 months of age, or at successive seasons, except on the written advice of a veterinary surgeon.

SALES:
9.  Breeders must be as careful as possible to ensure that their puppies go to good homes     and should therefore not knowingly sell them through pet stores, dealers or other unsuitable outlets.
10.  For his own protection and that of his buyers the Breeder shall provide written proof of sale and a contract of sale, which declares the limitations on breeding/exhibition etc.
11.  The breeder shall arrange for the Kennel Club Registration and a signed Transfer form to be sent to the purchaser with the least possible delay.   The Registration should be endorsed `Progeny not for Registration` - and this made clear to the purchasers prior to the sale. The breeder should only lift this endorsement once the dog has been tested as in (7) above. A puppy may be sold without registration and transfer papers if that is understood and agreed to in writing by both parties.
12.  No puppy shall leave the breeder until it is seven weeks old.   For Registered Breeding Kennels, no puppy may leave the breeder until it is eight weeks old, and exports must comply with DEFRA regulations. Upon releasing the puppy, the breeder shall follow these guidelines:
a)  He shall supply a pedigree of at least four generations, which will include: eye test results, hip scores and colours, where known.
b)  He shall provide written instructions on the future care of the puppy including diet; exercise, training and worming shall stress the need for early training. He shall also give written information about the care given to the puppy to date, particularly on diet, worming and inoculations.
c)  He shall provide records from the attending veterinary surgeon detailing any inoculations given, including their dates and the type of vaccines used, and the dates on which any future inoculations are due.
d)  He shall release only those puppies, which to the best of his knowledge are in good health.   If the purchaser so requests, the breeder shall supply a veterinary certificate of health at the purchaser's expense.
e)  He shall supply a written contract, which includes a clause, that if the purchaser is no longer able/willing to keep the dog (at any time in its life)- he will return the dog to the breeder for assessment/re-homing.

MEMBER RELATIONS:
13) In all their activities within the Breed, Members should have uppermost in their minds that the Club exists to maintain the Breed Standard.
14) The more experienced owners and breeders shall be ready to give advice and assistance to Members who seek it and shall make their knowledge and experience available for the good of the Breed.
15) Members shall be diligent in the handling of their dogs in public places in order to reduce to an absolute minimum the risk of danger and nuisance to humans and other animals.
16) Members must recognise their responsibility to protect the reputation of the breed and shall not allow their dogs to roam at large unsupervised or to become a public nuisance, or to be a charge upon an Animal Rescue Society or Dogs Home.
17) In all questions of ethics relating to the Breed, whether covered by this Code or not, each Member shall act solely in the best interest of the Breed and shall willingly help any Finnish Lapphund owner to uphold those interests.

IMPLEMENTATION:
18) Any Member wishing to report an infraction of this Code shall do so in writing to the Secretary and shall include supporting evidence in writing.
19) On receiving such a Report the Secretary shall submit it to the Committee. If the Committee decides that it is of sufficient substance to warrant investigation he, the Secretary, shall communicate its contents to the alleged offender inviting his comment, which he shall submit to the Committee as soon as possible. The Committee shall use its discretion in deciding what action to take and in appropriate cases may initiate action in accordance with Rule 8.

This is the Code of Ethics of the Siberian Husky Welfare Association (UK):

SIBERIAN HUSKY WELFARE ASSOCIATION (UK)

Code of Ethics for Members

Introduction:

This code lays out the standards of behaviour and interaction required by members of the Association.
Given the concern about the large numbers of unwanted dogs being presented for rehoming which has been the motivation for the creation of SHWA(UK),  it is crucially important that SHWA(UK) members, while working to alleviate the problem are not seen to be acting in any way which might be considered as adding to it. For this reason, all members will be asked to agree to the following code of ethics as a condition of joining the Association.
Although many of the Code's clauses represent universal moral positions  which are unlikely to change over time, others may reflect particular concerns of the membership at particular times. In view of this, it seems appropriate that the Code of Ethics should be reviewed by the Association committee on a regular bi-annual basis. Any proposed changes would need to be presented to the AGM of the association and, in order to be adopted, must be agreed by a clear majority of the membership present.
Membership of the Association  is open to all those who support the objectives of the Association,  pay the appropriate annual membership fee and agree to abide by the constitution of the Association and the Code of Ethics for Members.

Code of Ethics

As a member of the Association), I agree

GENERAL

1.  to promote the best interests of the breed by explaining honestly to the public in general as well as to prospective owners , both the advantages and disadvantages of owning the breed.

2.  to help, befriend and advise newcomers to the breed.

3.  always to behave (or to encourage your dogs to behave) in a manner which will promote understanding of the breed and which will enhance the good reputation of both the Association and the breed as a whole.

4.  to do nothing which will bring the breed and/or the association into disrepute.

5.  where arguments over policy etc arise within the Association, to conduct discussions in an adult and logical manner - avoiding personal insult and abuse.

6.  to conduct myself in line with the accepted rules of good sportsmanship when involved in any husky related activity - showing, racing, training etc.

7.  to promote the welfare of the breed by supporting breed rescue in any way possible.

I also agree to abide by the Association code regarding:

BREEDING & SALE OF PUPPIES

The increasing popularity of the breed has seen an accompanying increase in the numbers of litters bred - often without the appropriate health checks, home checks of prospective owners, or concern for little else that the money to be made from puppy sales.  There is no place for such "breeders" in an organisation dedicated to the health and welfare of Siberian Huskies and the following rules have been created with this in mind:

8.  No Association member will breed more than 3 litters in any two year period. Any member exceeding this will have their membership suspended until they explain the circumstances to a committee meeting. The committee may, depending upon the circumstances, lift the suspension, set a time limit on the suspension, or expel the member.

9.  Members who breed must take full responsibility for all the puppies they breed. No puppies should be homed without a signed witnessed contract stating that if the dog cannot be kept by the new owners, it must be returned to the breeder who will make arrangements for its care and/or appropriate rehoming.

10.  Members will work to preserve the good health of the breed by ensuring that their actions do not increase the likelihood of hereditary defects within the breed;  by

(a)  keeping informed about current developments in breed genetics in order to more effectively work to eradicate hereditary defects.
(b)  Ensuring that any dogs/bitches mated are screened for hereditary eye problems and potential hip dysplacia.    Members will not breed from dogs/bitches who have failed eye tests or whose hip scores are unacceptable (see Note 1 below).  Puppy sales/rehoming contracts must include breeding restrictions - "progeny not to be registered" - (see 13 below) which will not be lifted until satisfactory hip and eye test results have been confirmed for both the dog/bitch and its prospective mate.

(c)  Being honest and open about any other hereditary health problems which you may discover affecting your bloodlines.

(d)  Promoting health testing amongst those who are not Association members.

11.  Members intending to breed have a responsibility to assure themselves objectively that both their own dog and its prospective partner are of sufficient quality both in terms of conformation (measured by the breed standard) and temperament. Breeders must also assure themselves that the pedigrees and conformation of the prospective mates are compatible and likely to improve the breed.

12.  No bitch should be bred from until they are at least two years old or after they are 7 years old. No bitch should be bred from on consecutive seasons.  Dogs should not be used at stud until they have reached 18 months old or, it is advised, after they have reached the age of 10. If a stud service is refused, the member who owns the dog will explain the reasons why this has been done .

13.  Members must not allow their dog/bitch to be mated to dogs/bitches which are not KC registered, or to those which have not had KC Registration Endorsement - "progeny not to be registered" - removed by its breeder.

14.  Members will not sell puppies to dealers, wholesalers, pet shops or known puppy farmers. They will discourage anyone interested in the breed from buying from such a source.

15.   The association will monitor member's breeding programmes and will actively discourage the breeding of Siberian Huskies for profit by strictly enforcing the rules in sections 8 & 9 above.

16.  Any member suspected to be in breach of this code of conduct will be called before   the committee which will hear evidence and make a decision. A member found guilty of such a breach may be warned, suspended or expelled from the Association depending upon the seriousness of the breach.

Note 1

Dogs and bitches must be tested for Hereditary Cataracts, Persistent Retinal Atrophy (PRA) and Glaucoma. Testing for (Persistent Pupilliary Membrane) is desirable but not essential.
Hip Scores should not exceed 20 when the scores of both dog and bitch are added together. Neither partner should have a score higher than 14.

(b) Prior to breeding, stock to be Hip X-rayed and scored. Eye testing to be carried out within 12 months prior to breeding, under the appropriate KC/BVA scheme with the results declared to the Breeds Record Officer. Such information to be available anytime and may be published. Only breeders complying to this rule to be recommended to prospective puppy purchasers. The Officers and Committee have the right to refuse to accept requests for inclusion on the PLSC Puppy List (even when hip and eye results have been forwarded) if it is considered that the puppies were born through indiscriminate inbreeding.
(c) Breeding only to be undertaken with stock that is proven to be sound both physically and mentally, and no breeding to be undertaken under the age of eighteen months or before the third season, at which time full maturity should be reached.
(d) Bitches to be bred no more than twice in succession, and this to be followed by a rest of at least one year.
(e) Stud dog owners to satisfy themselves of the condition in which ensuing litters would be raised.
(f) Breeder to sell puppies in good health, exhibiting sound temperament, and are at least eight weeks of age, and accompanied by a complete diet sheet, health and record, details of worming and any inoculations administered.
(g) A full, signed pedigree to be available at the time of purchase together with any agreed terms of ownership and/or endorsement to control exhibition or breeding of progeny.
(h) Members will at all times maintain a high standard of health care for the Breed.
(i) In addition to any foregoing documentation listed, breeder will ensure that purchasers are given a copy of the Kennel Club's Breeders Code of Ethics, plus copies of the hip score sheets of parents and other certificates that may be relevant to other currently known possible defects within the Breed.
(j) Members will properly house, feed, water and exercise all dogs under their care and arrange for appropriate veterinary attention if and when required.
(k) Members will not allow any of their dogs to roam at large, or to cause a nuisance to neighbours or those carrying out official duties.
(l) Members will ensure that their dogs shall wear properly tagged collars and shall be kept fully leashed or under effective control when away from home.
(m) Members will clean up after their dogs in public places or anywhere their dogs are being exhibited.
(n) Members will agree without reservation that any Veterinary Surgeon operating on any of their dogs which alters the natural conformation of the animal may report such operation to the Kennel Club.
(o) Members agree only to sell puppies and older dogs where there is a reasonable expectation of a happy and healthy life, and will help with the re-homing of a dog if the initial circumstances change.
(p) Members will provide written details of all dietary requirements for older dogs, in addition to those already noted, and will give guidance concerning responsible ownership when placing dogs of any age in a new home.
(q) Members will not sell any dog to commercial dog wholesalers, retail pet dealers, or directly or indirectly allow dogs to be given as a prize or donation in a competition of any kind.
(r) Members will not knowingly misrepresent the characteristics of the Breed, nor falsely advertise dogs, nor mislead any person regarding the quality or temperament of the dog.
(s) All members familiarise themselves with the facility offered by the Kennel Clubs endorsement B when registering puppies. Ideally this exclusion should be placed on the registration of all pet puppies, also breeding/show puppies sold should be subject to an agreement of suitability of hip and eye results. All owners should be made aware of this exclusion when purchasing puppies.

Lhaso Apso: (No direct link sorry)

As a member of the Lhasa Apso Club I agree to abide by the rules of the club and at all times to endeavour to behave according to the following standards of ethical ownership.

As an owner, I undertake to provide proper care and attention for my dogs in the matter of feeding, grooming, companionship, exercise and any necessary veterinary attention.

I will not allow any of my dogs to roam at large or cause a nuisance to neighbours or those carrying out official duties.

I will ensure that my dogs shall wear properly tagged collars and shall be kept fully leashed or under effective control when away from home. I will clean up after my dogs in public places or anywhere my dogs are being exhibited.

I will agree without reservation that any Veterinary Surgeon operating on any of my dogs which alters the natural conformation of the animal may report such operation to the Kennel Club.

As a breeder, I undertake to abide by Kennel Club rules and at all times to act to the best of my ability with the interests of the breed at heart. To this end, I will endeavour to breed with sound typical stock of reliable temperament likely to produce good Lhasa Apsos. I will not breed unless I can give proper attention both to the dam and the puppies and I will make every effort to see that future owners are suitable in every way and informed about the character and need of the breed. I will not breed from stock that is too young (ideally bitches not to whelp under 18 months) too old or suffering from known hereditary defects. I will take care that my stud dogs are only used on suitable bitches. I will not sell puppies less than 8 weeks of age. Bitches bred from at two consecutive seasons shall then be rested for 12 months. I will support any Kennel Club schemes that the club may join to combat hereditary defects in the breed.

I understand that all dogs used for breeding should be KC registered and all puppies should either be registered or future owners made aware of the full implications of lack of registration.

I undertake to give purchasers of my puppies full information on their previous upbringing and future care, to be available for advice when needed and in the event of the necessity of re-homing to so what I can to help. If I am unable to help personally, I will seek the assistance of the breed welfare services.

I will not knowingly sell to commercial wholesale dealers, retailers or laboratories, nor will I allow puppies to be used as raffle or competition prizes.

As a member, I will try to work together in unity with other members, putting the preservation and advancement of the breed above personal ambitions.

11.2.1 All Officers, Committee Members and Members are required to adhere to
this Code of Ethics.
11.2.2 Breeders are to keep accurate breeding records and provide registration
papers and pedigrees.
11.2.3 All stud services and sales arrangements shall be mutually agreed upon,
stated in writing and signed by all parties involved.
11.2.4 All advertising shall be honest, not mis-representative or fraudulent.
11.2.5 Maintain best possible standards of canine health.
11.2.6 Encourage testing for hereditary defects and communicable diseases
within the breed.
11.2.7 Only Kennel Club registered Pinschers to be used for breeding.
11.2.8 All dogs offered at stud shall be in good health and free from
communicable disease and will not mate a bitch in contravention of 11.2.9.
11.2.9 No bitch shall be bred from more than once per 12 calendar months nor
whelped prior to 2 years of age. No maiden bitch (i.e. a bitch who has not
whelped) should be mated over the age of 5 years. All bitches should be in
good health and free from communicable disease. No bitch shall be
whelped after 7 years of age. KC ruling follows:
* The KC will not normally register litters born to bitches which are
eight years old (ie over seven years old) when the litter is born.
* Special permission to mate a bitch to whelp during her eighth year
may be sought. However, permission must be granted before a mating
takes place.
* The KC will only grant permission in exceptional cases. Accidental
matings are not considered valid reasons for registering litters.
11.2.10 Honestly evaluate the quality of all Pinschers and fairly represent that
evaluation. For any puppies that appear to be sub-standard the following
options are available to them:
* No breeding contract signed and endorsed by the KC, or papers withheld.
* An agreement in writing by both parties to spay or castrate at an
appropriate age.
* Euthanised on veterinary advice.
* No puppy shall leave the breeder under 8 weeks of age.
* Breeders should maintain an interest in the welfare of all dogs that
they breed at all times and, if possible/practical, assist in the rehoming
of these when necessary.
* Furnish records to each buyer of all inoculations and worming,
pedigree and Kennel Club registration and/or transfer documents.
Unless a written agreement is made at the time of sale that KC
registration papers be withheld.

Japanese Chin: (No direct link)
Code of Ethics
The welfare of the Japanese Chin is of the prime importance to all Members, who therefore undertake to adhere to the following principles:

1. Only Japanese Chins registered with The Kennel Club will be used for breeding.

2. No Japanese Chin known to have disqualifying defects or inherited illnesses, or defects may be used for breeding.

3. No puppy which has any physical defect, or which shows any definite departure from the Breed Standard, should be sold without the buyer being made aware of the faults and their consequences.

4. Members should only sell animals, which to the best of their knowledge, are in good health at the time of sale.

5. No puppy should be allowed to go to its new home under the age of ten but preferably twelve weeks.

6. The breeder will furnish the buyer with the correct pedigree for the animal being sold, also the registration papers and The Kennel Club transfer certificate for the animal (or evidence that one has been applied for). If the animal is being sold unregistered, the buyer should sign an agreement to that effect.

7. Members should endeavour to see that the prospective buyer and their home are suitable for the future welfare of the animal.

8. Members will not sell any Japanese Chin to Laboratories, Pet shops, Puppy Farms, Dealers or any person's known to sell to any of the above.

9. It should be impressed on the buyer, that they should contact the seller in the event of any problems with the animal, and the seller should make every endeavour to be of assistance.

10. The primary object of The Club shall be the successful promotion of the breed. This can only be achieved if all Members of The Club work together in harmony towards that end.  Any member with a grievance against another Member will have the right to put that grievance before the Committee in writing.
