Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / Late registrations, why?

Just a query as it has been bugging me for quite some time now. Has anyone any idea why a breeder would consistently register her litters at least 6 months after they have left ? This isn't just a one off but with every litter that this person breeds, they do not keep any back so that is ruled out. It has happened now with last last 7 litters they have bred in the last 2 years. I cannot understand how they can sell the pups as KC registered then not pass on any documents until the pups are  at least 8 months old. There is no spay or neuter clause, what do they tell the buyers? Very odd indeed. Has anyone any ideas?

Hi floradorai
I was just talking about this with a friend of mine today we know of at least 2 breeders who do this and we were trying to figer out why. in my honest opion they are telling lies when they sell pups saying they are k c reg when they have not done this and with the on line system now there is no need for pups paper work from the kc not to be sent with the pups when sold

It really bugs me, have gone through various reasons and all I can come up with logically is A: to put the revenue and customs of the scent or B to try to wriggle out of having a breeders license with the council. Can see no logical reason as why people do this.
I agree they are telling lies when selling the pups and could be had I am sure under the sale of goods act.
