hello all!
im new,my name is heather im 20 an from north wales.i have a large breed dog called kia who is 5,we do obedience and working trials and i have a very small breed called tiger he has just turned 1 and we do obedience and hopeing that soon he will be a PAT dog as his test is on friday!!!

well tiger doesnt eat well at all,his breed are better off getting fed twice aday but he wont eat twice a day so he only gets fed once.
he was on JWB dry with some thing mixed in either tripe,JMB wet, tinned food, natures menu or nature diet.but he was very constipated(he doesnt drink much water at all) and in alot of pain so i changed him over to wet food (natures menu) thinking that it would help him do the toilet better,he ate it for the first few days when he had been compleatly changed over, then i went on holiday an the dogs were in kennels for 4days.when he was there he would not eat any of his food so the kennels gave him somthing else which i dont want him fed on!!! so now back at home(been home for about 4weeks) he will not eat any food i put down for him,i take it up as soon as he walks away an offer it to him about 30mins later an he still wont have any of it.he hasnt ate for the last 4 days apart from when he can steal some of kias dinner which i have tryed to feed him that but he wont have it,he only likes it when its stolen! im just getting quite concerened now as hes lost a lot of weight in the last few weeks and he was quite lean to begin with.i also thought it might be somthing to do with his bowl so i changed that and tryed putting the food on the floor.he is fed in the same room as kia and my cat an they are all fed at the same time.
any ideas or tips????

thanks

I have several (the same toy breed as you), and I don't cut down to 2 meals a day until they are at least 6 months old.  I have recently changed to Natures Menu, although I do use half dry and half wet.  My dry is Royal Canin mini junior, but any good make is fine.  I know you say he won't eat twice a day, but what if you make it 2 TINY meals?  If he's as small as mine, he only has room for a small amount at a time!  It may be worth a vet visit, perhaps have bloods taken, to rule any health problems out.  I have found that finicky eaters will often eat if I give very small portions, and feed more often.  Worth a try?

What about putting him on something like Arden Grange puppy weaning food http://www.ardengrange.com/Pet-Food/puppy-food.asp.  the dry kible is very small like lentil size adn also very high nutrient density which often suits fussy toy breeds who can't seem to eat enough.
