Hello there, my 4 yr old male Lab cross (36kg, not overweight) has been diagnosed via arthroscopy and xray with some cartilage loss and osteoarthritis in his right elbow joint. He has been on Cosequin (Glucosamine & Chondroitin) for 12 weeks and shown no improvement. I'm thinking of trying Cortaflex or a combination of Rhus Tox and Bryonia, has anyone out there tried either of these or anything else for that matter. He was such a fit and energetic dog up until 9 months ago when the lameness started and is desperate to have more normal exercise again!
Thanks for any help, Hayley

I seem to have had a very good results from New Zealand Green Lip Mussel with my Dandie. I don't think I could recommend magnetic therapy though, I was involved in a study by the NHS about 20 years ago, very carefully carried out, with x-rays taken to line up exactly with the affected part etc., which showed absolutely no effect. To the best of my knowledge this is not used by the NHS to this day. It bugs me cos my poor old pensioner dad was parted from 30 quid or so to buy a bracelet that straps on randomly to his wrist he gave it up after about a month when the velcro started fraying and he realised it had not made a blind bit of difference, he is now on glucosomide but the jury is still out.
