Hi,

I recently purchasd a tail gate guard for my Astra estate. I have asked 3 people for help to fit this but they all throw their hands up in horror and tell me to see a mechanic. I am no use at DIY projects. Can anyone advise on the procedure or do I need professional help (!!! many say yes :-))

I fitted my tailguard in about 15 minutes but then it came with hardware and instructions on how to do it. Did your tailguard come with any kind of instructions or did you buy it used. If used, you could contact the manufacturer and ask them very nicely if you could get the instructions. Or post the type on here. It would help people help you if we all knew what make it was.

Do you drill holes in the metal under the carpet in the boot and holes in the plastic fascia?

I have an MMG but yes, I drilled holes through the carpet and into the metal for the floor, then through the plastic sides for the top of the guard. This is a picture of how the top bracket is fitted for the MMG. I couldn't find any pictures on the Barjo site for comparison.

I took mine down to the local garage and they fitted it for £20 without instructions.
