Hi all,
Advice please...As you are probably aware i have a 11 month old min.poodle. Close family are picking up their own min.poodle puppy in a few weeks,by which time my boy will be a a year old (puppy will be about 7 weeks) I am aware that getting a puppy to live with a young dog is a bad idea in terms of training etc, but my question is-when i go round to visit the new puppy will it be beneficial to take Fred round and introduce them, or is it better in terms of bad habits/training if i leave him home??? Not sure the best way to do it. Obviously i dont want to ruin the hard work ive put into my dog with behaviour and training, but i know it will be good for socialising the puppy and may be good for my dog to meet something smaller.
Idea/suggesetions please. many thanks  :-)

i doubt short term exposure will do anything to really undermine your hard work, plus  your boys trainging miught rub off on the pup (i've always found that training my example makes it easier- pup watches goes" ah! i see what you want now, and if big dog can do it...") , and yes the socialisation is good. you wouldn't not take him to a puppy class just in case one of the other pups was a slow learner would you? just keep your work going and it'll be fine.

I have that puppy :) Older dog is great for using as a good example of what is expected :)

I have a nine month old and a 13 week old, and have no problems, we are sensible and know the little one cannot do as much as the older one, they have their own quiet places in the house to rest alone, they do play together a little when I let them there have been no problems
