Well, I have got quite a few big races coming up. So starting a new training program.
We did 9 miles this morning. Got to get up to 13 in 3 weeks time!!!!
Only thing was, after running the 9 miles I had to go and help dad lay 3' x2' slabs!!!!! I was not happy LOL
Anyone fancy coming with me on one of the runs???? LOL
Lea :)

Monday - Beginners group, circuits.

Tuesday - 3 laps of My road (3 miles) first lap warm up. 2nd lap 3x fast pace along the straights with steady stretches in-between each speed. Last lap steady cool down.

Wednesday - 6 miles in the morning.  2-3 miles with the junior middle group.

Thursday - 4-5 miles adult running

Friday - as Tuesday.

Saturday - Rest

Sunday - Half Marathon training. 6-9 miles +

Total weekly mileage approximately 25 but will be going up in next few weeks.

Kills me to do 3kms at the moment!!

Actually I've just looked and I'm better than I thought.  First time I did Cani-cross it was supposed to be 2.5kms and it took me just under 27 mins and found out that the distance was 2.9 kms.  I was really upset when the last one I did took me just under 29 mins and there I was thinking I'd done better.  Just looked on their site and I had because it was 3.5 kms, although the entry form said that it was 2.5, so I did better than I thought.  Will start running again now as I'd got a bit despndant thinking that I did worse than last time and I hadn't!!

darn it, you guys make me feel bad...gonna make myself feel better by eating a huge greasy pie :) i embrace the big bum and laziness!
- By Lea Date 27.01.08 16:53 UTC
We all have bad races, And things like that do end up funny distances, so you cant always bne sure unless you get a Garmin, as you have found out!!!
Someone on Runners World forum has just given me some advice :-
time spent on the road running is better than thinking about running timings, those thoughts should be saved/reserved for races
Thanks WickedD LOL :)
Dont think about tiomes. Do it because you enjoy it :) :) :)

Where abouts are you Lea? Would be interested in joining you. However, not to do the whole weeks programme. I enjoy my trips to the gym to work on weights as well as C.V work.

Lea i really admire you, i talk a good run but i never actually get round to it, i'm not over weight but i am very unfit, i have tried going for a run before and i say tried in the looses sense, but i'm very self consious whenever a car used to drive past i'd start walking :-D so quite pointless really. what inspires you, after reading your post i feel like going now (but i won't)
- By Lea Date 30.01.08 12:33 UTC
I tend to pick up[ my feet more when a car goes past, so I look fresher than I feel just in case there is someone in the car I know LOL
I Started it nearly 3 years ago, and just got the bug!!!!
It doies help that I make myself go to club nights, and juniors how ever I feel. And that gives me enough motivation to go out other days.
I have just got back from a 6.7 mile run, going from 9.2 minute miling up to 10.4 minute/mile.
Its Goals as well.
If you book a race you know you have to be doing that distance by that date :)

Should have seen the amount of sweat I produced by the end of it!!!!! LMAO
Just worked out I was averaging 9.39 minute miling :)
I will do another run tonight with the kids, which will be about 3 miles :)
