Vizla, wolfhounds, frenchies(slightly more likely given the amount of room we have!), ozzie cattle dogs and ridgies.

Ah one day when we finally get a smallholding together I may have the room for a couple of bigger additions! Until then its the small 'n' uglies :-D
- By Nikita [gb] Date 28.01.08 18:26 UTC
I have dobes, a rott mix and a labracollie at the mo.  WIll always have dobes - but before them I was going to get a malamute.  I'd still love one, or a siberian.

Malinois is definitely on my list, when I'm earning a bit more per hour (sos I can work a bit less!!).

I'll have greyhounds when I'm old and silver :-P
- By Izzy bear [gb] Date 28.01.08 18:34 UTC
I have 2 newfies and a greyhound but if I could have other breeds aswel  because I won the lottery it would be

another newfie (I could afford the van to carry them in)
a dobermann (my first dog was a dobe she was beautiful, I WILL have another)
an english blue roan cocker spaniel (probably the next dog we will get)
neopolitan mastiff
- By dexter [gb] Date 28.01.08 19:09 UTC
I have 2 labs who i love to bits,  but i love  newfoundlands, flatcoats, dobermanns, pointers, gsp, spinone ,pugs the list goes on!!!
- By hebeboots [gb] Date 28.01.08 19:15 UTC
Something big, with a short coat and a brain (basically the opposite to what I have now :-D A certain friend of mine gave me a crash course in boxer management and they have kind of stuck on me - my sons first choice for sure :-) Certain friend will now probably bop me as she will say that boxers aren't big but medium.. right Tooolz? :-D

Would also like (with my lottery win) an afghan. Drat. Back to lots of coat again!!!
- By Astarte Date 28.01.08 20:25 UTC
hmmm, mastiff, leo, frenchie, bulldog, dane, maybe a newfy or staffy. definately/maybe a leo later on though.
- By Paula20380 [gb] Date 28.01.08 20:26 UTC
I can't imagine ever not having Mastiffs but I would also love portugese podengos, a pug, a whippet, red setter(sentimental because I grew up with them!!), and a bulldog!!!

All a dream I think!!!!! As long as I have mastiffs around I'll be happy!!!!:-D
- By breehant Date 28.01.08 20:56 UTC
Flatcoats or Gordon/English Setter for me i think :)
- By ShaynLola Date 28.01.08 21:05 UTC
Newfies will always be my no. 1 breed but there are loads of other breeds that I'd consider alongside the Newfs....to name but a few: Bernese Mountain Dog, Rottie, Beauceron, Clumber Spaniel, Tibetan Mastiff, Spanish Water Dog, Chow, Japanese Akita Inu......
- By Crespin Date 28.01.08 21:13 UTC
Love my min pins, wouldnt give them up for the world.  Want to get a hairless crested.
Love to Doberman Pinscher, German Pinscher, Brussels Griffon (Rough Coat), Standard Poodle, Boxer...the list goes on.

My breeds that I love, tend to have deep chests and a nice uptuck.  Also am interested in the Newf, and Bernese Mountain Dog.  I love dogs, that when you see them, you HAVE to look at them.  There isnt a dog on my list that would be "forgettable" or an "everyone has that dog".
- By morganalfie [gb] Date 28.01.08 22:01 UTC
mmm definitely a flat coated retriever (a glossy black one) 1st and foremost.
Then a red setter or
maybe a red and white irish setter
or a irish water spaniel (for that geougous soft velvety coat)
or a gordon setter
or a english setter
and last and by no means least the one I have recently been looking at is Huskygal's eruraiser red fox mmmm lovely lol
- By malwhit [in] Date 28.01.08 22:08 UTC
I think I would get another Pembroke Corgi, a breed i have owned before - but I have always wanted a Smooth Collie or a FCR or a Standard Poodle
- By mygirl [gb] Date 28.01.08 22:38 UTC
I have 4 danes and they are a bunch of lazy good for nothings, i've seen a few beautiful pharoh hounds is it? stunning animals but then i compare anything to how it looks free running on the beach :-D boizois are a truly majestic breed running those i could watch forever and a day at the beach..
- By JeanSW Date 28.01.08 22:48 UTC
Although I only breed toys, I have always been mad about the Pastoral breeds.  Have 2 Beardie girls and a Border Collie boy who just lives to please me.  As all mine live in the house, it's not practical to have another big dog, but if I could afford a bigger house, I would just have to have an Aussie.  Smiling at the posts that mention what the OH would like.  Many years ago, my husband said, any more dogs and I'm going.  I looked into 3 pairs of brown eyes and said "And we'll miss him won't we?"
- By Kasshyk [gb] Date 28.01.08 22:53 UTC
Hi I have a Utility breed at the mo but Fav of the other groups are Gundog - Flatcoat (waggy!!) Working-definately Leonberger (Hairy!!) Toy- Affenpinscher (cheeky faces) Pastoral -Australian Shepherd (bright) Hound- Beagle (greedy) Terrier- Cairn(mad) but I have all these traits in the breed I have now so probably stick with them!!
Angela
(Apologies to owners of the breeds listed above at the very superficial ideas of them!!)
- By kayc [gb] Date 28.01.08 23:53 UTC
ooh.. definately a Flat Coated Retriever :-)   4 years ago I gave myself a 5 year plan...and it has taken 4 years for me to be ready... and  at some point this year I hope to be on a waiting list for a Dual purpose 'liver' Flatcoat :-D
- By dollface Date 29.01.08 00:42 UTC
I would love to have an American Bulldog and a Dogue de Bordeaux (sp) Lovely animals- My hubby really loves the Mastiff breeds he more wants just a mastiff- right now i have my 4 boston terriers to enjoy- in the future prob 1 big dog, sphynx cat and an african grey parrot :)
- By Staff [gb] Date 29.01.08 08:47 UTC
At the moment I have GSD's, Rotts, Akita and a Staffie but when I only have my Rotties I would love a Miniature Bull Terrier to join the pack...one day, 6 dogs is quite enough at the mo lol!
- By Angie Date 29.01.08 11:01 UTC
I think it ould have to be a Pharohound.  In my opinion they look so majestic.
- By Maudlily [gb] Date 29.01.08 11:27 UTC
Irish Wolfhound
- By paulaj [de] Date 29.01.08 11:50 UTC
It's so funny reading this thread as hardly any of us can pick just one breed (and why should we, LOL)

I'm beginning to think that a big money win enabling us to have any breed would be more of a problem :-D

Paula

PS:  Can i add Rescue Greyhound and an Otterhound or 2 to my list please :-)
- By Tessies Tracey Date 29.01.08 12:01 UTC
I do like bull breeds, so initially would probably go for:

* Bull Terrier
* Mini Bull Terrier
* Bullmastiff
* Border Terrier (furry bear - lurrrrvely!!!)

Utilty - Akita
Hound - Hamiltonstovare
Terrier - Border Terrier
Toy - Papilon
- By Brainless [gb] Date 29.01.08 17:00 UTC

> have GSP's but if I had to choose another breed I have always admired the english setter, very regal looking, don't know how i would keep them clean though for showing, not where we walk the dogs, red sand, mud and water!!!!!!

You'd have to go for Orange Belton or the Liver Belton :D
- By stanyer21 [gb] Date 29.01.08 19:26 UTC
i have 2 springers but if i had the room would definitly get some cockers and labs- love the gundogs natures!!!!
- By Lea Date 29.01.08 19:28 UTC
I would love a Blue Neopolitan Mastiff :) :)
But wont ever own one as I cannot do the Slober!!!! (And am sure they will never GM them to take away the Slober!!! (JOKE!!!)
Fell in love with a flat coat retriever at a show the other week. So may well have one at some point!!!!
But Rotties will more likely always be my main dog, with another breed with them!!!
Lea :)
- By Brainless [gb] Date 29.01.08 19:34 UTC
Never likely to change from the breed I have, but have said if the Eurasier had been in the UK sooner, I might have considered them.
- By Angels2 Date 29.01.08 19:43 UTC
Just to add a lab probably brown or yellow, I think this will be our next dog (not for a long time yet lol)
- By ja.moss [gb] Date 29.01.08 20:18 UTC
I have a Golden and a Flatcoat.  Next will be another Flatcoat but would probably have a Field Spaniel if I couldn't have another Flatcoat.
- By BERRY1 [gb] Date 29.01.08 20:47 UTC
Someone just reminded me of one i forgot    lol.  When i am a lady of leisure and the huskies are old and me too, i want an old english to be my retirement partner. A nice big fluffy boy to stroll with and while away the hours. Must just like the big dogs here.
- By RRfriend [se] Date 30.01.08 04:01 UTC
At the moment there is only one breed of dog for me ;-)
But when I get older, and the RRs get to be too much for me, I'm going to have Whippets.
- By Vanhalla [gb] Date 30.01.08 10:35 UTC
Whippets, whippets, whippets!
- By Polly [gb] Date 30.01.08 11:18 UTC Edited 30.01.08 11:23 UTC
Group decisions: mmmmmmmm...............

OK here goes

Gundogs, I have flatcoats so I would choose curlycoats or sussex spaniels.
Toys, I have pekes so I would choose papillions or maybe a pomeranian
Utility, Tibetan spaniel or schipperke
Working, Hovawart or Newfoundland
Terriers, Manchester or Bedlington terrier
Hounds, Basenji or Otterhound
Pastorial, Lancashire Heeler or border collie.

Which group or groups did everyone find the hardest to choose a breed or breeds from?
For me it was the gundog, hound and terrier groups as I like so many from these groups, and have handled several at shows.
- By CALI2 [de] Date 30.01.08 11:49 UTC
Hmmm toughy,

Hounds - Have Basenjis but I think I would go for Whippet or Elkhound
Terriers - Border or Bedlington
Gundogs - Flatcoat or Vizsla
Toys - Papillon or Griffon
Utility - Keeshond or Shiba Inu
Working - Rottweiler or GSD
Pastoral - Have had Buhunds but would probably be a Sheltie or Tervueren

My hardest groups were the hounds and pastoral ones.

I can't see me ever changing my breed though.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 30.01.08 14:28 UTC
I prefer the FCI groupings, and in that case I would have quite a few from Group 5, Spitz and Primitive Types. :D
- By Cyrus [gb] Date 30.01.08 20:25 UTC
We have sibes and a mal here

What would I love.....too many to mention but top of the list would be more mals, a wiem, a bernese, a newfoundland, a leonberger, a border collie, a duck tolling retriever and a viszla
- By ChristineW Date 30.01.08 20:28 UTC Edited 30.01.08 20:32 UTC

> I would love to get a large musterlander...........have been tempted many times but something always happened to stop me, maybe soon!!!

If you want any advice about the breed - just ask.   Had one or 2 in the past few years! ;-)

I can't see me changing from this Munsters BUT I sometimes despair over their conformation and where the breed is going especially as health problems seem to be cropping up more regularly & brown puppies are becoming more widespread.

However my interest in pedigree cats is going great guns, I can plan future matings with ease as there's so much more to chose from (Well in the 2 breeds I have there is!).
- By messyhearts Date 31.01.08 16:25 UTC
I have a CKCS. I have a whole list of breeds that I like!

Ones that I probably won't ever have:
Afghan Hound.
Great Dane.
Rottweiler.
All of the setters.
Newfie.
Weim.

Ones that I may get one day:
Flat Coated Retriever.
Borzoi.
Golden Retriever.
Bernese Mountain Dog.
Leonberger.
Nova Scotia Toller.

& I am sure there are more. I have a soft spot for long haired black dogs. I saw a beautiful black long haired GSD not so long ago - I would have one of those but I know they are not the correct breed standard....

Oooh does that mean I can become a new mummy again :-D
- By ceejay Date 31.01.08 18:21 UTC
I am a setter person really but have deviated from the long legged beauties to a working sheep dog.  It was a border collie or a Welsh Springer that I wanted this time - something I can lift over stiles if needs be!!  It was only the fact that I would have to wait ages for a spaniel that made me decide on the collie.  Wish I could have both but wouldn't cope.
- By AliceC Date 31.01.08 19:13 UTC
At the moment we have a Cavalier and a Malamute. At the end of the year I will have the breed I have always wanted - a Samoyed. I'm so excited as I have waited for ages to get a puppy from this particular bitch :-)

My fave dogs from the groups are:

Working - Alaskan Malamute / Giant Schnauzer
Pastoral - Samoyed
Gundog - Cocker Spaniel
Terrier - Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier
Hound - Irish Wolfhound
Toy - Cavalier King Charles of course! but also love Pomeranians
Utility - Chow Chow / Dalmatian

Found it very hard to choose from ALL the groups, I have also always had a soft spot for Rough Collies and Old English Sheepdogs, the Pastoral group is definitely my favourite, but there's loads more I could have chosen from the Working group too :-)

> Oooh does that mean I can become a new mummy again

You'll have to get in the queue behind HG, rachelsetters & Teri!  ;-)

Hopefully babies from Hope, June time-ish?    A real dolly mixture of colours!
- By ice_cosmos Date 31.01.08 19:55 UTC
I own Mals and an Aussie but I am rather partial to Labs (owned them whilst growing up - yellow and black) and Eurasiers :)
- By Fillis Date 31.01.08 20:42 UTC
Hooray - Alice has chosen my breed! (Doesnt happen very often). I would have Tibetan Terrier or Havanese (I like hairy)
- By Minipeace [gb] Date 31.01.08 21:07 UTC
I have thought long and hard and have come to conclusion if I were to have another breed it would be a Pigmy Newfie :)
- By bez [gb] Date 31.01.08 21:24 UTC
Currently have a Dobe - never again!

Spent years looking into betting a Bully, i'm obcessed, but for some reason went for a brown Dobe!

Can't wait to get one, we want to eventually breed perhaps.

Had a Boxer previously, but he was so perfect, don't think I could go back to them, even though I love them very much.

Also like - Rotties, 'proper' staffs, Bull Mastiffs, labs, Retrievers, springers, Cane Corsos, GSD, Bulldogs, Great Danes.

Oh come on shall we have a online arguement :-d

As you were the spawn of the satans kittens :-(

You lead me up the garden path :-) :-p
- By ChristineW Date 31.01.08 23:08 UTC
Do you think Hope's kittens would be any better behaved?

I bet C&C would've been angels had their lived in this calm & tranquil environment!  ;-)   I blame the owners!   :-P
