Does anyone know who will be presenting Crufts this year on the TV??
I really love watching Crufts on the TV, but last years presenters just spoiled it for me, can't remember their names but they just didn't seem to be human! or even dog lovers.
I hope it is someone better this year!! xx

Just hope they don't have Ben Fogle again or I will puke.

Likewise I really hope it is not Ben Fogle nor his family!

I hope it's not Ben Fogle too, he is truly cringeworthy! I liked Richard Hammond and Claire Balding too. I don't mind who presents as long as they can tell their breeds apart, I was shouting at the tele when Ben was making up some silly-sounding breed names. Jessica Holm always does a good commentary, I think.

On TV tonight he was hanging off a cliff in some tropical location..... lets hope he's still there and can't make Crufts.

Fingers crossed...I like his dog though :-)

I hope it's not BF but I'm certain it will be unfortunately!

NOT BEN HE PUTS ME OFF HE IS AWFUL
THANK GOD FOR SKY + FAST FORWARD HIM!!!!!!!
BRING BACK RICHARD HAMMOND!

I haven't a clue, but I also hope it won't be Ben Fogle!

I spose if it IS him, those of us going could make it a mission to accidentally er... cause him to er.... fall over.... or something?
*packs arsenic*
He really is flipping awful, not just with his dire lack of canine knowledge, but his complete inability to actually present live tv!
Can't stand BF either. Or his dad. Claire is good though. At least she knows animals and will admit to not knowing, but willing to learn more. Do you think Peter Purves will be there again this year?

Can't stand BF or the other Fogle :-( he really is most provoking

Would really like it if they picked someone who
a. Knows their dog breeds - it's not
that difficult! Surely they have time to do a little research ?
b. LOVES dogs
c. Can present LIVE tv!!!
And lets have no more talk on Crufts about how crossbreeds with
really stupid names are going to become official breeds! I almost put my foot thru the TV last year!! had to resort to banging my head against the wall :-(

For the obedience agility flyball etc I think Mary Ray would be good. I heard her commentating at Olympia and thought she was very good.
Totally agree about BF and liked Richard Hammond and Clare Balding very much

I nominate myself and Richard Hammond to present crufts this year!! lol
Maybe they should let the actual 'dog lovers' presenting each day i.e. on Gundog day have someone who actually owns gundogs to present, on working day have someone who actually owns a working dog etc:
> on working day have someone who actually owns a working dog
ERM what happened to Pastoral Day

roflol

Gemini05 I'm going to be the next presenter, he, he although I must admit don't really see what people see in Hammy but there again he's better than BF!
Cant remember who presented it last year now , but thought it was better than previous years?
Was it not clare balding, frank kane & that jessica woman?
Mind you I think the Fogle man was still arsing around in there too, he is such a moron, and doesnt he look like Princess Diana?
It wouldnt be so bad if Ben Fogle just sat there looking pretty and didnt say anyhting. At least he is nice to look at! ditto Richard Hammond. But Clare Balding ??? Maybe its time for someone new then?

I agree BF is good to look at!
Karen :-)

god no, he's a strange plasticky type of person isn't he? seems so false no matter what he's saying

Did anyone see the castaway programme that BF came to prominence on?
I did and remember him to be a true gentleman!
Nothing plastic about him, certainly manly and quite a leader of folk naturally.
Having seen him on that I do feel he's much more the man than he is being credit for.
Karen :-(

He's very good with scripted or edited TV. He's just pants doing Live TV, so presenting Crufts isn't the right thing for him.

I do agree didn't like him doing crufts at all, however, do like him, plus he managed to row the Atlantic, that was some feat!
It would be nice to have a more professional presenter with more 'dog showing' knowledge.

My OH would be livid if he was to present the FA cup final so why do we get an inappropriate person presenting Crufts every time. They always have to have a 'fluffy wuffy doggie' type because the producers really see it as a bit of a joke IMO.
It would be a nice touch, if an exhibitor/breeder, or seasoned show person was asked to do some interviewing, perhaps not do too much, obviously they wouldn't want to become too famous.
But I must admit I'm a Frank Kane fan, love the voice, like what he says, always comes across well, and knows his stuff (certainly doesn't faux par like BF)!!

BF is good to look at, but thats where it stops!!!!
If he had been on TV and NEVER opened his mouth he would be good eye candy ;)
The problem is that he does open his mouth and does that thing that he thinks is inteligent speak, and his Eye Candy factor goes from 100 to a big fat 0 as soon as he opens his g*b!!!!!!!!!!!!

PML @ Barry!!!!
Well true, but doesnt that show the difference in us women and you men????
You men dont care the drivel that comes out of womens mouths as long as they have a good RACK on them.
Where as we are less shallow and want to see a good looking block WITH intelligence :) :) :)

No to Ben Fogle here too.

Lea" Ahh now could this be the problem with BF see he's a man and therefore couldn't possibly multitask eg try and think what to say next as well as look at the camera :-)
It's got to be Clare and Hammy for me as well i think, maybe send BF out in the ring to actually show a dog and see what mishaps can happen to him :-)

Re Frank Kane:
>And he's an excellent judge too........................
Absolutely. He's one of the
un'facey'-ist judges you'll ever come across. He knows his stuff and is totally honest.

Totally agree!
Says the owner who's LM has won 2RCC's & 1CC under Frank Kane!!!

Agree one 100 % just add he's also brilliant to watch judging + a gentleman.
Barry

Yep I like him too, chatted to him ringside while I was in the ring (was surprised he recognised my girl from a previous time in the big ring) and he has often been very helpful to novices in the ring at various levels.
I know it's off topic but do any of you guys watch yourself if you end up on TV at Crufts?
Oh yes, no BF!!! Although it was funny when he didn't know the breeds and made something up ;-)

would def watch myself if I was ever filmed at crufts!!
bit sad but when we go to crufts just to watch we come home and watch the Crufts show and scan the screen to see if we can see ourselves in the crowd!! LoL
Also my cousin is a football player, so we always record the sports news when he is on, even it if its just a view of him!!
