Oh Teri you wouldn't want to live on in a vegetative state would you? I can't think of a worse living hell than that.
Miracles may happen but I have never seen one personally and even if I had I would doubt very much that it would be my good fortune.
Even if I were a believer, the thought of my loved ones coping with many many years of caring for me is abhorrent to me.

Lets hope you ( and all of us ) have a long and happy life.

if you read my reply to Spender's post above yours (may be on the previous page now) you will see that I have said I would not want to be resuscitated (have no idea how to spell that tonight LOL) if I were suffering from an illness or accident which compromised my quality of life or broke the heart of my loved ones and compromised THEIR quality of life by endlessly visiting and/or caring for me

And just for the record, I have seen miracles - more than once :)

Modern technology can be a wonderful thing but there is no way i wanna be kept on life support for ages, getting worse and my poor family watching. As was already said, if there were no machines then those poeple would die. I do believe in survival of the fittest.
Still dont want any organs removing though, even after reading all these posts with some convincing views my own thoughts haven't changed!!! :-)

totally agree! i believe that when my body dies my soul will move somewhere else. i;ve told all my family that to keep me alive in a coma etc would be increadibly cruel of them, they would trap me in a form that no longer functions, my idea of a nightmare. deaths scary but less so for me than being trapped, unable to move, speak or indicate in any way that i'm still in there. no thanks, send me to the next life and let other peole benefit from my existance and passing. the wheel turns and returns, if i give life when i die i think thats increadibly beautiful.
