So, I know it was out ages ago but has anyone watched Firehouse Dog? And what are your favourite doggy movies or movies including a dog? The Irish Terriers in the film were lovely, though I can quite imagine them being difficult to train! I wonder if the movie made them more popular? Oh, and the poodles all multicoloured - well, that was just disgusting. Such a bad impression of an intelligent, handsome breed. I did really like the film, otherwise.

ok, small sample of those around me

bf: Turner and Hooch
Friend 1: beethoven or lassie
Friend 2: turner and hooch
friend 3: turner and hooch
me: ohh...maybe turner and hooch but i don;t like the way the dog is portrayed as a bit of a psycho (also dogue de bourdeux X rough collie does not equal a selection of pups of both breeds, but anyway...). actually the incredible journey (disney version) featuring a gorgeous golden and an absolutely fantastic american bulldog.

For me its eight below and snow dogs but thats because I love my Huskies! I like most dog films though - I'm a sucker for animals!

As far as I know there hasn't been a noticable increase in demand for Irish terriers since the film was released. I haven't seen the film, only the trailer, but as I understand it, the IT used is referred to as a mutt in the film. They was some concern among breeders that the film would cause problems in the breed. I suppose the fact the the lead dog, wasn't what most people would class as a "pretty" dog helped a bit - although I thought he was very handsome, but I'm a sucker for a redhead. As for training Irish Terriers, arrrrgggggggggg!

There wasn't any mention of the breed, your right. And there not a common breed, so that would've helped as people might not know what breed they are. I thought the dog was gorgeous though. Not a breed to suit me, but theyre great. And I like redhaired dogs too, always fancied a dog to match me!
