Anyone know where I can get some waterproof boots - not the shoe type or ones for injuries but the nylon ones with velcro which come half way up to the leg, I used to know someone who made them but can't find her details - anyone help?

This might be the type you are looking for? =http://www.dezynadog.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?cPath=17&products_id=1875  Hope this helps. Oh sorry not the shoe type, I read it wrong! There's this link but probably not what you want http://www.hubintsecured.co.uk/acatalog/Pom_Covers___Snoods.html

I am not being cheeky here or sarcastic in any way.  But do dogs need shoes or boots - or do some dogs have sensitive feet that need protecting?  I'm ignorant in this but have often half laughingly thought copper could do with wellies when we're on a muddy field.  Can they walk properly in them?  I'm intereseted to know why a dog would need shoes.  I'm honestly not taking the mickey here - I really am interested.

show dogs with long / light coloured hair to keep them dry/clean on show day.  Ive used them to protect bandages.  To be honest I wouldnt use them everyday just because its muddy but they do have their uses.

Well yes, I see that now!  I've been to Crufts many times and often wonder how owners of white dogs keep them clean!  Mines a wiry grizzly type so dirt doesn't really show unless its mud.

Yes, for showing you can get boots to keep fur looking all nice and clean. Service dogs i.e. army/police also have special boots to protect their pads if they are needed to go into an area where there is broken glass for example, or something which may damage them. Infact, service dogs get their own little "uniform". Wellie boots for dogs sounds like a great idea :-)

Hi, my standard poodle, who I show, is white and so has pom covers to protect the fur on his front legs from his own , erm, urine as much as anything else. But they make brilliant mud protecters. I should have taken a pic. of his front legs which were clean and rear legs (and belly!) which were filthy after this mornings walk! I use the  type from HUBint  which just cover half the leg. They dont restrict movement at all, thankfully, or I wouldn't use them. He races up and down the deep mud in the fields with glee! But the ones I use dont cover the feet, I'd be a tiny bit conscious of boots.

Thanks so much everyone - especially for the eBay and Beardie links just what I want and yes, for wet show days to keep the cream hairy legs of my Polish Lowland from going grey with muck - hate that walk to the NEC too!
