Our border is 7 months old.  Does anyone who has borders know the usual age when their first season?  Also, before her season begins will there be any signs or will she just begin bleeding one day?  I have read that she will be swollen around her vulva just before, but i wondered if there is any other signs and how long do they occur before she will start bleeding.   I want to know any way, but yesterday someone told me borders have "silent" seasons, which has thrown me completly!

one of my borders had her 1st season at 14 months my pup had her first at 11 months but a couple of my friends bitches had their 1st at 6 months i guess it varys btwen each dog

Im afraid it can be variable. My afghan bitch had her first season at 18 months, her sister had her first at 6 months.

Swelling can variable too.  One of mine swelled like a baboon before any sign of blood, another - hardly any warning apart from the blood.

as they would be there at the end of the Phone to advise you, can you not direct these questions to them,they should after all have first hand knowledge/experience of their Breed.
