Does anyone know of this KC name on a West Highland white male 'Colourful Movie Star'?
I am trying to research his pedigree background but with no Affix name its like looking for a needle in a hay stack!!!
I knew the owner when I was a little girl, I used to walk her westies for her as I just adored them.
'Colourful Movie Star' or Haggis as he was known was a brilliant stud dog and also was the star in several TV commercials including a cornflake advert where the person is moving house but still eating her cornflakes while the removal men are removing her furniture out!
Haggis is also in The Ultimate Dog Book, representing his breed.
I have lost contact with his owner (about 15 years ago!) but would really like to trace his pedigree :)

Hi no record of him in the Database I have access to the worldwide one. Sounds like he came from a pet line background.

I don't remember the advert but generally dogs often selected for these type of ads are not quite "typical" of the breed. They tend to pick soft coated westies for some strange reason. I guess the pure white fluffy type works well in the ad. 

When you say he was a great stud dog what do you mean? Perhaps you can expand?   I can't find any record of him so he isn't as far as I can see behind any show stock.

Hi thanks Blue, when I say he was a great stud dog, I was a little girl when I knew his owner and just remember visits from other westies for a mating at her house!.
I used to look after her bitch when she came into season or sometimes the other way round.
Haggis was a gentleman and I believe she did show him a couple of times, but she constrated more on his TV career and also she bred Russian blue cats and Bermese, she had a cattery in her back garden, I sued to love going round and helping her out, feeding the cats whole dead chicks!!!! eeeewwwww!
I know it is probably a long shot in finding relatives of his, but the westie is a breed I have liked for years, and although i do not own one (YET)!!

Name does not ring a bell with me either, Can you let us know her name as some of the older westie folk might know of her, and where she came from.

Her name was Karen Tanner she lived in Surrey.
Her cats also used to do TV ads and used for pictures on cat food tins!! :D

The database I have goes back to 1909 :-)  So my money is on pet stuff.

I can imagine waling down memory lane  but when the time comes , if the time comes please please go through good breeders. Do your homework.  There are so many puppy farmers, backyard breeders of westies now it is crime really.  They little sods live till as much as 18 so best to get it right at the beginning. :-)

Blue, thanks for your advice, that is one of the reasons why I wanted to see if I could trace this pedigree, as you say this breed is very much a poplular breed with puppy farmers and backyard breeders in on the game, so I would most certainly research and find a reputable breeder if I do decide to have one xx
