I would just like to thank Westie lover, Lindsay, nice n easy and Bullet for their very HELPFUL and INFORMATIVE advice.

I do appreciate you all taking the time to give me some insight to your own experiences with spaying/unspayed.

I am at present leaning towards seeing how I cope with her remaining un-spayed. I would be extremely cautious in preventing a pregnancy from occuring. If however, I decided to go have her spayed, I was initially thinking between the first and second season, however, Westie lover suggested between the second and third, presumably ensuring she is reasonably fully mature. - Good idea.

Thanks again,
Linda.

HI Linda

It's good to see an onwer who is so concerned about their dog's health, i think with this issue there probably isn't an answer, just what is best in one's own circumstances. :)

I used to take my 2 TErvs out very very early in the morning when my girl was in season and used a spray to partially stop the scent, we didn't have too much trouble but whatever you do don't walk the bitch to and from the house as this will lead a trail to yoour front door LOL!!!
