not sure that this question belongs in behaviour but here goes.....how old would you suggest a pup needs to be before she should have the chance to use a dog flap? I need to fit a new cat flap anyway and was thinking of upgrading to a dog flap as our pup is left for an hour or 2 morning and afternoon due to work, would a dog flap for a 4 month old pup be giving her too much freedom?

Hello Bec here not Phil :D! My puppies start using the dog flap (medium size) at about 5 weeks of age! So really any thing older than that should be fine as long as they are introduced properly and not forced through it (a lot of bribing works :D)
