I own the fussiest Beagle ever (I think) anyway after trying almost everything suggested to try and get this dog to eat (and in the process making him fussier). A few days ago I decided I would try and make the food seem more fun to try and get him more interested, he's never really liked eating it out of a bowl and seems so un-interested in food alot of the time.

I have kongs and the kong toys with the ridges so I stuffed the kongs with biscuits and meat and put loads of biscuits in the toys with ridges of the kong toys. He really enjoyed them and had so much fun getting the biscuits out and playing with them. He even ate biscuits in the past he has turned his nose up at.

Wasn't convinced this would interest him, but so far great! I am a little concerned he might get bored of the kongs and wondered what other people do to keep there dogs busy with food based toys. Bearing in mind I can't have food all over the house as I two other VERY greedy Beagles so the little guy is crated with his food toys.

Any suggestions most welcome.

A buster treat ball is a really fun thing for my dogs :)  they do different sizes or you could just use a plastic bottle with the lid removed :)  the other dogs would have to be confined for a change ;) but it wouldn't be for long ;)

Another thing we do - especially in bad weather, is to hide dog biscuits around the living room and tell the dogs to find it (dogs musn't watch you hiding the biccies tho ;)

Then there are the steamed bones - filled with  peanut butter/cream cheese/fish paste - the list is endless :D
