my poor, put upon other half is being a total sweetheart and is indulging me and taking me to crufts!*!*!*!*!*! (as my other thread on this one says). he likes dogs but is not quite so obsessive as i am and will be missing his football on sat (he's an avid fan of his local team and is bereft about missing it). as such i would like to do something nice for him when we are down. we'll be there the whole day wed before kick off on thurs (YAY!!!!!!!!, sorry) so does anyone who knows the area have any suggestions? good museums, safari park or something?

Spend the day in Stratford upon Avon or combine it with a trip to Warwick Castle.

The Bull Ring is fabulous for shopping and there are lots of nice pubs and cocktail bars along the canals....the nightlife is also pretty good ! Sorry - not sure that is what your were after but I went to Cadburys world and loved it, I also went to Alton Towers which is not that far away - had a great day !

cadbury world would be a big sacrafice for me as i can't eat chocolate (5 years and counting!) but he might enjoy it...warwick castle sounds good but we're not drivers, public transport is essential!

If you need to use public transport, you can get from digbeth in bham to warwick on the national express coaches. Shortest time it takes is about 55mins and will prob cost about £6ish. I regularly go from Bham to Oxford (going through warwick) and i can get the journey for as cheap as £1 if i book in advance. Hope this helps! :)
