How do I go about making sure I don't miss the shows I really want to enter? So often I have been asked "are you at so and so" and I haven't even known when "so and so" was on :rolleyes:I'm sure if you've been involved in the show scene for some years, you get to know what's on when and where, but as a newcomer I tend to rely on picking up schedules here and there and I seem to be missing out:( any ideas pleaeaeaeaease!

You could buy a Starprint Diary and get the page of show dates for your breed added. then you can plan well ahead.Gillian

or you could buy a dog world or our dogs diary. both have the major champ and breed shows in them. you could also make sure that you pick up schedules at every open show and champ show that you go to

Jackie ...I live out of my filofax and PDA ...I couldnt organise a p*** up in a brewery otherwise :D

What with dog shows and 2 different schools events , Stephens dates for things , Girl Guides , Football , LARGE families Birthdays etc etc.

Hi Jackie, think it may have something to do with the name, I get the schedules and forget to enter, or enter and forget to go, or go and take the wrong dog. No hope I'm afraid. Ja:)kie

Hi you two, I have a large bulldog clip hanging on a nail on the wall. I send for schedules and as soon as they arrive fill them in and send them off. I then write on the front of the schedule, which dog and which class. Then I hang them up in the bulldog clip in date order. hth

Hi to you Phillipa, believe it or not I have a black ring clip file for shedules & a red one for entered ones, and they are in date order. Now that should work and would all I need is a fileing clerk. Twice in the last 6 weeks I've had to phone a show sec to ask which dogs I've entered and which classes because I've found the cheque stub but must have filed the entered schedule, along with details of who and in what, in the litter bin. My system is quite easy.

When I get schedule I write the date on the calmder.

I then keep the schedules in date of entries closing order.

Once I have posted the entry, having circled the class numbers and put the dogs names against them, I put them in my show bumbag in show date order.

This works quite well, as I don't enter more than two shows a month, so rarely will have too many schedules in the bumbag.

Each dog has it's own folder. Each year I use one plastic pocket with 2 sheets of A4 back to back. On one are the deatails of shows and awards for champ shows, and on the other Open shows. The cards go in between, so they end up back to back in the middle.

Whe I get a show critique, I cut it out and selotape it to the back of the relevant prize card.
