Starting tonight on chanel 4 are a series of progs about the lives & conditions of animals that meat eaters eat.

As a meat eater & animal lover I`ve become increasingly concerned about the welfare & state of the animals I eat which in turn affects the meat I/we eat, to the point of rearing my own pig thru the summer/autumn & rearing my own turkey for xmas just passed. I`ve also mated my goats with the intention of eating goat meat later on in the year.

Just think that maybe some of you may be interested in these progs & take up the call for better living conditions for animals raised for meat. Know I`m lucky enough to be able to rear my own, but theres a lot people who aren`t so fortunate can do to change the situation :)

You and I too Christine. Although not in the position to start rearing my own  :-)

I do try to buy carefully although it is hard.

I nipped into ASDA yesterday a shop I rarely go in. I wanted Eggs and my daughter works nearby so I nipped in. No free range eggs to be found. The Egg shelf didn't even have a tag.  I am sure they do sell them somewhere but they are certainly out numbered. 
  I saw their " Barn eggs"  is this the in between :-)

I think Meat almost speaks for itself in the quality of meat and taste.
