is it possible i have mated my bitch too early ? Thing is she has silent seasons so it,s difficult to tell just how many days she started her season Anyway i left it till my entire dog started getting desperate to get to her She was taken to the stud dog who mated her on27th dec2007 and again on 28th of dec dog was not so interested on the 29th stud owner said she probably could have got one but thought it would be forced so left it Since then the bitch has stayed at my daughters Today we walked them together to see if she would be ok to come home .but the dog was still very keen but not {off his head keen} if you know what i mean Anyway she,s gone back to my daughters .Is this normal or do you think i,ve mated to early Her last mating she only had 2 pups friends say she may have only had 2 because she was mated to early This is her last mating so if she misses this time i am getting her spayed The 1st litter was 6 puppies  2nd was the 2 puppies i mentioned so im just hoping i,ve got it right

I think I would have gone with testing to see when she ovulated to make sure I had correct days - especially as this is going to be her last litter.  Not much you can do now except wait really.

IMO having a small litter of pups has nothing to do with mating too early

Yes, I would have got the testing too. But it's possible the dog is still detecting the raised hormones even if the season is over or almost over - or if you haven't bathed her yet, the smell will still cling to her. You'll just have to wait & see!

have had blood tests done before not very good feed back from vet  I have,nt bathed her yet was,nt sure if i should yet as she,s a funny bitch and does absorb  so thought i,d wait till she,s back home although she,s quite at home with my daughter i,d rather do it myself
