i was woundering if anyone out there could give me some advice on the care of a blue dobes coat, he is 13 mths old and has quite a poor coat. so if anyone has some tips i would b very grateful.no blue dobe hate mail please!.

I can assure you this is NOT blue dobe hatemail!!!!!! (Why on earth would anyone want to send such a thing??) However I will say that they notoriously have poor coats & can only reccommend a dietry supplement as a help...I used to find kelp based ones were good as they also help pigment.

Why would anyone sent hate mail on any colour of Dobe - I even manage to restrain myself, most of the time, on the albinos.

I wonder if the guest who asked the original question came back and tried out the link, and if they have found anything useful?

For the time frame (13 months ago) there were only a few registered blue Dobes born here - including, if I remember correctly a litter of six blues to two black dogs whose ancestors were black for about 5 or 6 generations so I imagine they were a bit of a surprise. I know I was surprised to see the whole litter being blue so I did some research on their ancestors. Those little things that waste so much time <grin>

That's where something like Breedmate really comes into it's own isn't it. I've "wasted" so much time tracing eye test results back, but the results are facinating.
